I think it's inherently bad to "hate" fictional characters. They are fiction after all and are meant to reflect the best and worst aspects of real people and real life. Ideally good creators should find potential in developing them. In terms of hating someone's personality though, yeah Lucy has been very insufferable and envious, with plot relevant purpose. Mike on the other hand has gotten significant development for the better for this personality.

I'm half expecting Alejandro not to even be implied for the rest of the dream, and it's just the table group. Seems like the actual event is fading into the background leaving only resentment towards her friends, hence her trying to escape them here despite wanting (at least Mike) to stay in her earlier nightmare. The scales tilting from fearing Alejandro to hating her friends seems to have taken place after the second dream, and honestly it seems unprompted to me.

She's just resenting them more and more for something that didn't actually happen. Paulo and Sue both got hit by Alejandro, I don't remember Daisy doing much but I can't see her trying after seeing the other two get taken down.

Mike was the one to help her the most once he got up, but that doesn't mean the other three should be blamed. Like I said in a thread or two ago, this can only work properly if the narrative shows that Lucy is absolutely in the wrong for resenting her friends for this.

If she chews them out over this and they end up apologizing to her and kissing her feet, then it's just another missed layup for Taeshi.

I'd prefer a mix of both groups. I'm also pretty sure Lucy (like she said in Double Down) is blaming them for not lifting her up when she was suicidal. The alleyway P.T.S.D nightmare is a seperate conflict to fuel her acting like a jerk to Augustus and Paulo.

Funny enough, I wrote a story kind of sort of like this. I did imagine that Mike in Lucy's nightmare could put her down, telling her that she's nothing compared to Sandy, poking at her insecurities. But hey, maybe James and the Track Team could do that.

Yeah, the slapstick tone of the first volume and the double standard favoring female abusers didn't do Mike any favors. Lucy does have an accountability problem, she took it a few times like in December 2007 when she tried to get back with Mike. Right now her biggest problem is admitting that she needs help specifically from the friends she claims to despise. We're waiting for her to be honest towards them about that.

In our real world we still have great apes who are our closest relatives and yet other species in genus Homo are long extinct. Somehow one survived in the long term and others didn't.
I think wildcats more likely existing, branching off phylogenically. Domesticated cats and dogs might have all evolved into hominid cats and dogs, or some of them branched off. In my headcanon, Homo sapiens go extinct, and domesticated cats from Egypt and Israel as well as domesticated dogs from Europe take their place and become sapient.
