Could it have worked?
Could it have worked?
why didn't any of the characters mention 9/11?
No. Both for being a stupid concept, and it was going to be a "kids cartoon" that no child would have enjoyed.
If he asked for 10k for a pilot it would’ve gotten the money. The pilot would’ve gotten delay after delay until finally getting uploaded in 2023 or 2024. It would’ve gotten more dislikes than likes and Enter would’ve crashed out Chris Chan style.
Maybe, if Enter didn't sperg out and split with Nayolfa
Ironically, many indie cartoons these days are costing nearly as much per episode as Enter's original goal. He asked for 350k, right now and episode of Lackadaisy costs 250k, I imagine Helluva Boss is similar
No
Good reason to never "co-create" with anyone as an indiefag
Drama is almost inevitable, especially if you or the other guy is a raging autist
Mr. Enter is not a cartoonist. It’s clear from the 100+ scripts he wrote out for the show (before the Indiegogo campaign for the pilot) that writing is moreso his passion.
Pair up with an illustrator and put out dozens of books. Take those scripts and have like 2-3 stories a novel
Among the thousands of other issues with Enter himself, no.
The premise certainly couldn't work the way he was trying to take it. The reason why it sorta worked in the pilot that he took the basic idea from was because that presented itself as an episodic gag comedy where you don't question the "rules" of the world.
The way he wanted to do this premise (as poorly executed as it would've been) took the concept and made it a world with heavy lore and deeper character-driven stories, which only raised all kinds of questions about how the world of Growing Around would even function. For example, he seemed to be establishing that as people grow up, they willingly give up their rights so that children can be in charge of the world instead, which is beyond fucked.
That’s a fully polished series. Pitch pilots are cheaper.
fuck no
i'm glad he toned down the freckles
no way
Why did it have to be a whole ass big production pilot? Just start with like small shorts, show potential and build from their
Gonna dissent and say it could be fine, but only if it's an episodic cartoony comedy series. Then the premise doesn't have to fall apart.
That's not how the faulty thing John has for a brain works.
kek
No. The premise doesn’t stretch itself to a full cartoon series.
Much of the world building doesn’t make sense (especially the Pokémon cards not having value based on their card rarity)
Also the kids torturing the adults by shooting them paintballs and making them eat dirty roller skates might not appeal to everyone.
Mr. Enter based his cartoon on a cartoon short he likef and thought it would make good series.
The whole premise is just “I had a bad childhood and hate my parents”.
Who do you think hates Parents more: Mr Enter or Dave Willis?
Does John have a real job?
No because it’s the neurotic expression of an arrested development person’s broken thoughts he’s trying to preserve from when he was an unhappy and confused latchkey child. It can’t be solved because it’s an unsolvable mess
Youtube doesn't count?
It was never meant to be that, Enter clearly just wanted the same kind of fandom that the horse show had, that's the reason why there is so much shit on it that would only appeal to little girls
Why is THIS of all things his big idea? I mean the one he's so dead on fighting for.
No, it just doesn't make any sense. The idea is horrible. I can't wrap my head around the logic in which it operates. People have kids, and then they cede control of their lives to them? And this is the whole society? How is this enforced? Who's making them do this? The adults all seemed fucking miserable. The whole world is miserable and nonsensical. What about people who don't have kids? What about the elderly? At what point exactly in your life do you become a second class citizen for remainder of your life?
Because his parents were mentally ill, literally, and incompetent. Unfit for parenting, and abuse John.
And so, John created a world where kids make the rules, because he used to escape to an imaginary world where he wasn't powerless.
That's why he uses GA for revenge, and his main characters torture adilts.
"If I were in this world, I'd kill myself before adulthood!"
Creator is silent about that
Entire idea collapses right then and there, so no.
Guys please support but awesome cartoon idea. It doesn't matter if I can't draw and have no actual real writing experience! I criticize children cartoons online so I know what makes for a good show.
Fuck! I just realized that Mr.Enter was basically writing crappy KND fanfiction
Also "i watched a bad CN pilot, got unreasonably angry about it and it somehow got stuck inside my autistic brain forever"
bad CN pilot
Wasn't it Nick?
Technically Dinsey Channel, on Shorty Mc Short Shorts.
If kids are the ones with power, does that mean they're the ones that allow when/how often adults reproduce?
Hell to the no
-Whitney Houston
No, it could work as a short or a random episode of a cartoon. The idea isn't that interesting to do anything with. And its just weird to base a show around.
Yes, but only if he didn't care about worldbuilding or lore
No. But I would have liked to have seen it made just to watch it crash and burn.
It could work as a movie that is one big dream sequence of a kid wishing kids ruled the world and said kids world is fun at first but also quickly apparent how flawed it is.
The problem is that 1) he wants this to be a full series (which I don’t think there is much material for) and 2) he is obsessed with making kid world a utopia (because of his bad childhood).
