Haven't watched the third season, bothers me that they're preteens. The appeal of the show is that it was a very unique show of kids being kids while having wild adventures, I don't wanna watch preteens doing this stuff because it imo detracks from the overall spirit of adventurous youth tumbling and joking through a weird mythology world and instead becomes coming of age slop

kek but yeah i feel you anon the mood is kind of different in Season 3 because of this. For me it's kind of enjoyable, like i'm seeing my cute daughterfu grow up into a young woman.

No Spoilers but she can drive now and swordfight and has Daddy issues

Bout to sleep, just came back to share a dumb anecdote about the show I just remembered. You're better than me, I find drawing fun and baffling but almost never do it just because I constantly forget which imo is worse than procrastination.

Anecdote is a Canadian on a server I'm in who reads tons of comics and I'm pretty sure only really watches popculture stuff refused to watch Hilda despite liking it's trailers and animation soley due to the "British accents"

Are Scandinavians allowed to own guns? If I win the lottery I want to move to Hilda land but I enjoy shooting shootguns and lever action rifles.

Welp... It and arcane are now just gonna be shows who's finale seasons I won't bother watching even tho I'm sure Hilda's third season is still leagues above arcades second... Just still not what I liked about the series but the movie and 2 season are still more than enough for me!

You need to show proof you're in a gun club or want it for hunting, but otherwise yes quite easy to get a gun license. In Denmark though i've heard to get a license as the exception.
Nowhere beats shooting than in the woods, super comfy. Anywhere not completely covered by trees I feel like i'm at risk of someone just walking by or looking at me. Then i'll have to talk to them or some shit.

If it helps they're only 13/14
but yeah can't blame you haha. One complaint I did have is they spent almost every episode on Hilda's daddy issues plot. There's only 1 episode spent on quiet magic adventures. But I've complained about that before.

Hilda's dad finally appears, and everybody hates him. Always told Hilda he's an "adventurer" but he never was really he just didn't wanna raise her
I think Hilda by the final episode admits she's realised that by now, but doesn't have any hard feelings about it

Oh that doesn't sound too bad then. I just like shooting my cowboy guns, and you are completely right about being in the woods shooting. Especially during the autumn season. The cool crisp air, the colors of the leaves, wearing a warm sweater with a cup of hot tea with a little honey in it, and its just you. Peak comfy. I just wish I had the fjords near me right now.

Is S3 worth watching? AFAIK it's not based on any book and all ideas are 100% from jewflix, which usually is a massive red flag.

All the ideas are from Luke himself, actually. He planned to make S3 into a book but stopped the books to focus on writing for the show, even set it up/foreshadowed it in The Stone Forest book
S1 and 2 do this as well. Luke preferred the show because it let him put 100% of his ideas into reality instead of just a few of them

That is also kinda the mood of S3, it's like just one book. Imagine The Mountain King but divided into 7 episodes, that's S3.
But yes same quality as before, just mostly focuses on 1 storyline

Yeah it's fun, you get to see more of Hilda's family and childhood
also they're older now so you see her having grown up. Hilda didn't change much in looks but she's more of a real adventurer than her little self. David grew a lot and his voice got deep and the marras make googoo eyes at him. Frida got a haircut and mellows out slightly
