i wish people had gotten away from thinking about movies regarding how much money they made or lost. its not at all an accurate measure for how good or bad the movie actually is. and when it comes to anything DC, their marketing campaigns are excessive. they spam social media with articles written by shills, they fluff the reactions and comments with sockpuppet accounts and bots. it actually angers me to the point of boycotting whatever it is. the fact they are literally harassing me about watching it is enough for me to refuse.
so what i expect is them selling a lot of tickets. theres plenty of people out there who like Gunn's stuff well enough to want to have "fun" at the cinema. but as for the lasting effect of the movie? i think all of Gunn's work is "good" not great, but only the first time around. and thats even if you're into his style, tone and sense of humor. perosnally i experience strong diminishing returns trying to watch anything hes made over again.
i definitely hated the idea of him touching Superman, and not because of Snyder, im actually not a fan of his either. im not in the Cavill cult either so its not that. im just not sure Gunn's style is a good fit for the character. but i and others made that very clear from the start so i expect Gunn *tried* to control himself and it right. but i expect some gay cheese out of this one. probably some good moments too.

Nobody else makes dinosaur movies besides Jurassic Park sequels. As long as Hollywood executives are afraid of their dinosaur movies being called "Billy and the Clonesaurus", Universal gets to have its fake monopoly on them.
Why does the public want "dinosaur movies"? It's not like these are aimed at kids, and we don't see the same amount of, say, "giant robot" or "kaiju" or "mermaid" or whatever else movies, except for short fads. The exception being capeshit, I guess, but there's a lot more range available to capeshit than "yet another group of hubristic morons get eaten by dinos".
