Is getting a job in the animation industry worth it now?
Don't you get tired of constantly remaking the same tired bait threads?
Burn, you son of a bitch.
clearly its for getting experience in working in a grocery store
We get it, Anon Babble hates whiners and takes joy in the misery of others. Find something else to talk about.
Not OP but I like these threads because these people deserve suffering.
Is it wrong that I love seeing industry animators and showrunners struggle?
I personally failed in my animation dreams so now I can only get fulfillment from seeing actual professionals become destitute
Personally, I hope every single celeb, musician, and ceo in Hollywood is forced to work retail for the rest of their lives
Same for the more sucessful "indie" animators
If I can't be happy, no one can
No anon this how you live a miserable life. Why not make some short cartoons about those aspirations you cared so much for?
Sounds like an early ticket to the grave anon
Living in misery and spite will drain your soul quick
I like schadenfreude as much as the next guy but this dumb bullshit is tiring, you don't need to regurgitate the same thread every goddamn day. No one even cares about the fag in OP.

I hate these people because they are smug, elitist pricks. They gleefully destroyed a medium that gave children an aspiration to awesomeness and the adults some rest from their shitty daily lives. You hate these people because you couldn't be one of them. We are not the same. And I hope to never become like you.
Is it wrong that I love seeing industry animators and showrunners struggle?
These people had every opportunity to prevent this. They did nothing to bring back out sourced jobs and refused to let the industry develop beyond 3 over priced cities despite remote working being readily available.
The same thing is happening with AAA game studios getting obliterated by tiny indie projects. Let it all collapse so the bloat and rot can be swept away and the real talent can rebuild.
You ever wonder if you can just hit up washed up creators to see if they want to work on your project? Maxwell Atoms is helping write people's indie pilots now.
based
The best thing for us to do is flood the writing sector because they are the ones truly pozzing it up
Even if they forced DEI on us we could still have it be seen and not heard.
Writing is not a real skill
Is it wrong that I love seeing industry animators and showrunners struggle?
I personally failed in my animation dreams
Writing is easy. Good writing is hard.
I got tired of watching 1 million animes and tried out a bunch of western cartoons. I didn't finish a single one except Over the Garden Wall which was short and more importantly actually good.
This
Indie is the only way.
Indiefags are going broke too
Relatable, but I have no animation dreams and mostly just hate them for being Californians.
crowdfunding indie comics is just shonen clones, capeshit knockoffs, and porn. now everyone wants an indie multiverse and they’re scrambling to japan to sell it to like 50 japanese readers for a quick buck. nobody's making comics for fun anymore, and if you call it out, people just say "yeah no kidding it's commercial now." but at least mainstream stuff looks good and comes from actual pros, not some c-list animation grad dumping more slop on the pile.
It's okay and even healthy to take comfort in the fact that other people are fucking up, failing, getting screwed over, or just going through shit because it can help you feel a bit better about your own life.
That said there's a fine line you don't wanna cross where you're just spitefully celebrating the failure of others entirely to feel good about yourself, especially if you're gonna be a dick about it because now people know that you're probably unreliable as a friend.
We often think of empathy as this amazing almost spiritual thing and forget it's an evolutionary trait that designed
to build cohesion and group advantage within social species.
calm down lil bro it's just a drawing
I can't calm down
I'm in my 30s and can't even find a wagie job
My family hates me, I can't drive, I'm a permavirgin, and bulimic
I have failed and will probably be homeless by the time I graduate university
shonen clones, capeshit knockoffs
We humans love stories of people overcoming great difficulty. The hero archetype has existed for as long as we can recall as a race because of how it resonates with us.
and porn.
Sex sells in all eras.
Sounds like you have identified some problems. Address them. And anger is powerful fuel. You are much better off than someone who doesn't know what his problem is and has surrendered himself to apathy.
I think instead of a draft everyone should be forced to work two years of retail full time so they know how much it sucks.
Based
I think everyone should go through that in addition to a mandatory military service.
This. Also, it's true what they say.
In retail, you're everyone's bitch.
It's the epitome of suffering, especially if you're working at lesser retain store chains.Worked in retail for 6+ years, so pic is definitely related.

The people posting these Anon Babble threads and replying to them deserve to suffer more. Mock them instead.
NYPA
Excellently put anon, I applaud you.
Oh no, you have to do real work. Like a large chunk of your countrymen, how embarrassing.
Ok, Rikki Kix
Telling people that (You)'re just as ripe a target of mockery is not asking for a flash mob.
Nico is a dime-a-dozen video editor. He's also a company liability because he can't shut the fuck up on social media. Blaming just the industry for his own failures guarantees they're going to keep happening.
We've gone from him bragging about ruining childhoods to begging for money for this month's rent. It's very hard to feel sympathy for him.
I personally failed in my animation dreams
How'd you fail?
other people failing doesn't make your life better
this isn't really a good place to focus your pleasure from
poor people hate rich people because they're jealous and then have to believe they're smug so they feel justifed
That's actually a really good point. It becomes harder and harder to tell what's a flat-out layoff and what's a more genuine firing in the current state of things.
When Zaslav was going crazy, Rooster Teeth fans blamed its downfall on him until it was very apparent that it was because the company was a money furnace and its closure had very little to do with all the other stuff
No. People hate rich people because we exist in a world where the rich can get away with any they want and have control over the things in the world.
Rich people and people in animation are not the same.
Why doesn't he just use his animation skills to make fetish art?
rich is relative
nice try, mossad
fight Iran yourself
every major industry is living on borrowed time, trying to appease shareholders who believe there's an infinite amount of capital to mine and keep demanding more.
Unless something changes, it's all gonna come crashing down in our lifetimes. hoowee, it's gonna get bad.
That sentence is meaningless.
You are memeing but let me relieve some stress by ranting at you.
A military term for all citizens doesn't mean they will be deployed. Not in times of peace and certainly not when it will cost a politician an election. Plus there are paid soldiers to send first.
I served a term. I got to meet people from all over the country and I got to see the country for free. After the army I had something in common with every local that I could bond over and achieve some measure of unity instantly. Also the army teaches people through experience that doing something for everyone comes back to pay you. Today you clean the toilet so everyone including yourself will have a clean toilet. Tomorrow you'll have a clean toilet because someone else cleaned it. Idk how to describe it properly. I am stressed af rn and there's a motherfucker here irl who won't shut up.
The nigga also doesn't want to get a real job. He wants to stay in animation
Is getting a job in the animation industry worth it now?
No, especially considering what happened to much of western animation in the 2010's and 2020's. Compared to prior decades, Anon Babble shows that either liked or piqued my interest plummeted in past two decades.
Sure, I've gotten older, but I can still enjoy some older Anon Babble shows and accept them for what they are. I can't say the same about most 2010's and 2020's Anon Babble barring a few exceptions. It sucks that folks are losing jobs, but perhaps this could somehow lead to course-correcting and weeding out bad actors.
Reasons Why I Avoid Most 2010's and 2020's Anon Babble Shows:
Vocal showrunners and staff either venting their frustrations on social media or attacking that show's potential audience.
Said showrunners and staff wanting pats on the back by certain groups on social media instead of just quietly cranking out shows like previous generations of showrunners and staff did.
Recent changes in society spilling over into recent western animation in ways that feel pretentious, ham-fisted, and preachy. Preachy Anon Babble shows existed before, but it feel more overt with recent shows.
Widespread use of thin-lined, puppet-rigged 2D animation leading to too many shows with similar art styles.
Fewer action shows, especially those without toys to sell or ham-fisted and pretentious agendas.
Studios wanting their cake and eating it too by encouraging showrunners' agendas until said agendas become a problem (Disney/Pixar + TOH/Win or Lose/Lightyear/Strange World).
Reboots so for divorced from the original series that were better off NOT being reboots at all.
We've gone from him bragging about ruining childhoods
It was a joke about them working on a reboot of a safe edgy reboot with poor ratings and a glorified toy commercial with bad slaptick. He did not murder your families.
He was poking fun at the fan backlash of it. Only the opening of Thundercats was good, but the show was never good.
someone who lives in a broken trailer doesn't see a difference between you and elon musk
funny how less than a paragraph of thrown away thoughts make me hope he is condemned to a life of minimum wage slavery and a lonely death
I feel like this industry has always been kind of challenging. The current economy is rouge, but the phrase "starving artist" is ancient.
Hot take: If you want action cartoons, watch anime or Invincible. The old ones in the past were bad as they lacked sound design, continuity, violence, and choreography because of censorship.
*so far divorced from the original series
Some 2010's and 2020's Anon Babble I'm better off avoiding altogether because either their art style is too ugly to sit through or showrunners and staff have an apparent disregard to classic animation practices (dismissing model sheets).
I've already lost some interest of Anon Babble stuff as early as the 90's. 2010's and 2020's stuff practically nailed the coffin shut.
watch anime
I've been watching Anon Babble ever since the 80's. I know Anon Babble has its own flaws (the moe or isekai trends is annoying and 80's and 90's Anon Babble was peak art style), but it feels a void I've been missing.
or Invincible
I like Invincible, but parts of Amazon's handling is aggravating in certain ways.
The old ones in the past were bad as they lacked sound design, continuity, violence, and choreography because of censorship.
That's part of the reason I gradually lost interest in Anon Babble shows in the first place. After a while, lighthearted Hanna-Barbera back catalog and theater shorts still on the air in the 80's and 90's combined with FCC-regulated Anon Babble shows got increasingly tame compared to what Japan got to see on TV.
They got a lot of cool foods. Takes a while to get to enjoy them all
He was poking fun at the fan backlash of it
He should be listening to it instead because these were the people he was relying on to watch it. Even if it was all just a badly communicated show, he was extremely unprofessional. The journalists further taunting people and having the original Lion-O condemn naysayers in the show didn't help at all the perception that he was being playfully sarcastic.
If I were in his shoes I would tell the angry fans "I understand how you feel but please give it a try first."
Only the opening of Thundercats was good, but the show was never good.
I kind of agree, but something doesn't have to be good for it to mean something to you.
bump
A lot of these shows take >2 years to make, they're not going to throw all of their work away last minute unless if they can sell it like Zaslav
It's really unwise to antagonize a fanbase like that especially if the show needs them for views. That behavior helped no one least of all the people that actually worked on the show.
You'd be surprised. Everyone notices bad writing but nobody notices good writing
What I don't get is why they're not converting their skills into something more productive.
Well no, I get it entirely, its because they're still chasing the serialized TV series meme.
Is getting a job anywhere worth it ever?
artards looked down on blue collar workers and dreamed of they day computers would make them irrelevant. Good thing life has a funny way of getting to you
Based, same here except i can't draw. Now nobody will need to kek.
