I feel like this shit's gonna flop hard but still be kino
With the marketing push Glitch has been doing and the success of both Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus, it would have to be abysmal and unwatchable to be a flop
It's being released on YouTube and created by a studio that makes great stuff. I really can't see it failing. Not to jinx it but unless something fundamentally changes about the way the company operates like the guys in charge die and some mooks take over I don't see how this company could ever be anything other than a raging success.
It has a sexo waifu. It will do fine.
Also, why does the artstyle remind me of Luigi's Mansion?
I couldn't care less if its a hit or not, I honestly would much prefer if it didn't get shot with the hyper-autism ray that TADC did.
You cannot predict the future.
Yeah this. It's not going to flop, it's definitely not going to be a ridiculously viral brainrot kid magnet like TADC, and jury's out on whether it'll be as popular as Murder Drones.
But it looks visually interesting, it's already got a good number of people looking forward to it. Unless it's HORRENDOUSLY bad, which I really don't think it will be because Glitch have proven to put out good stuff with Murder Drones and TADC already, it'll be fine.
Anything over 10 million views would be a success honestly. Glitch has a big audience now because of the other two shows so lots of people will check it out.
Very nice. I feel like I recognize your art.
Do people even want this to fail?
It will be a failure if the merch sales are crap, and we'll find out if they're crap after the first episode comes out.
Kind of a stupid question, but when looking around I came across the creators post about the trailer on NG and he had this to say. Doesn't the pilot dropping mean that the show is already being made? Am I mistaken?
I thought so too at first, but after the trailer came out I saw that they went completely 3D and emphasized cool fights and dynamics over characters.
It looks like the show won't be standard, so it has a pretty good chance of succeeding.
Like with Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus, once the pilot is released there's usually around a year before subsequent episodes start coming out. During that time Glitch works on wrapping the previous show's production up, and starting up the production of the next show (who's pilot is out).
Murder Drones wrapped up, TADC is almost halfway through to being wrapped up, Gaslight District pilot is releasing, by the time TADC has ended Gaslight District will be close to having episodes out or will be releasing episodes just before the TADC finale. Like how TADC started dropping episodes alongside the MD finale.
You're a stupid fucking retard, holy shit.
I don’t think it’ll flop, the Glitch name will keep it afloat. I do think it’s not as marketable as TADC (but very little is). If it’s good and has any fandombait at all it’ll sustain itself at baseline a moderate success.
Very informative, thank you anon.
bush
heh. based.
I feel like I recognize your art.
drawfag that regularly makes stuff in MD threads.
May I ask, anon, what exactly is the problem?
I hope it's good, Theres not alot of shit to watch or care about right now
trailer got +1M views in less than a day
yeah, this won't flop unless they fucked up big time...
Too early to tell. I don't expect it to do Digital Circus numbers, but I expect it to exceed past Murder Drones. Who knows I may be wrong and Gaslight District may end up being a hit blowing Hazbin/Helluva out of the water.
I'm sensing some similarities between the Gaslight District and Helluva.
at worst it'll be a moderate success
it already has codes to hook the theoryautismos. we're stuck with this one for a while.
Im gonna enjoy this better than tadc
Pilots are testing grounds. Sometimes they’re used internally at networks to show execs and see if they want to order more episodes. A lot of times they end up becoming episode 01 of the series too, but sometimes they’re remade, retooled, etc.
In this case it seems like Glitch uses the pilot to gauge public interest. Their previous shows have done well enough that they always went into full production, but I guess there’s the possibility that this might not get a full series if there’s not enough public support for it.
This looks like something that the autist guy that make the Joker wanting to drink ocean water would do
That’s not a high bar to surpass tbf
Anyone else look at the thumbnail, and thought the candle was her giant ass that said "Gaslight".
Are you trying to... gaslight us?
Nah I reckon it'll do alright
The follow-up image is funnier.
Contrarians want it to fail because Glitch got too popular with TADC
It's going to be hard carried by fapbait with the mummy girl
Contrarians want Glitch to fail in general. Hence why you have generation wars faggots shitting on the shows metely for being new and popular without even watching them.
It will probably get more views than the trailer.
I wish it still looked like this. The models suit it better.
success
dead series with less than a single season
Yeah, it had much more personality of its own, rather than the CGI animation that glitch is now very used to do, just with less frames just so they can say it's like stop motion or some garbo like that to make it artistic
lol im sure it will do just fine
Delusional
This is bait, but all Glitch's shows are going to be "single seasons" so this doesn't even work.
why doesnt glitch make a movie? it would be only 2-3 episodes worth of animation. and they could enter it for competitions and shit.
Or he just doesn't understand that Glitch's shows can be majorly successful, make a lot of money through merch which funds production of more shows, and then end without being dragged on so the next showrunner can have a chance with their show.
Some anons are just coping industry cocksuckers mad at Glitch's success in the indie sphere and that they're going to have 4 shows under their belt once Gaslight District and Knights of Guinevere come out after TADC ends with Ep 9.
Murder Drones won a Webby Award IIRC.
Don't know if TADC has yet, but I don't think Glitch really care about stuff like that. Their entire thing is getting creators in and producing their show.
Once we see her from behind, I'll give my determination on whether or not the show has potential
and who shall they go to for their movie anon?
tell me a single name that could actually deliver a movie-long animation in the indie space
Maybe them? Emesis blue is very popular and murder inc might also be kino.
admittedly i'm not an industryfag but i'd have thought a movie would be easier to wrangle than a shortform series. i'm sure there's any number of graphic novel creators who'd give their left boob/testicle to have their work adapted by a animation studio too.
She's bottom heavy.
What do you guys think of big boy Ken?
