To find a solution is to somehow make their art in a way that AI can't scrape, or have some way of holding scrapers accountable for stealing from them to train their AI. Just boycotting or striking isn't going to do much.

AI Art on the other hand uses almost no electricity. If you play any game on a PC for an hour, you can generate over 500 pictures using that same amount of electricity. Heck, a phone can generate an image in less than 30 seconds.
If you use the electricity argument, it will take around 10-100 times more electricity to draw it yourself in Clip Studio or Photoshop compared to AI.

A good percent of artists in the grand scheme of things don't care about AI. If anything AI has allowed them to improve their own creative endeavours. Most artists are not crying and complaining, they're practicing their craft.

The vocal meltdowns are mostly artists who are scorned from some dream that if they work hard they can get into the 'industry'. The industry now has access to all the art they ever need. Why hire a concept artist when a prompt in ChatCBT can get them an idea which they can further adapt and refine. Most people who cry about AI are those who are being effected directly by it. At best it can fill a niche in the industry similar to VR glasses but its not going to revolutionize because solving the current limitations would require a self-thinking that understands context and consistency. As an artfag who used to do commissions as a sideline years ago I can definitely say that AI art will lower the value of art simply because it can fill whatever demand the average person needs.
