In the end the World Slash was just Sukuna trying to style on Gojo, he has stronger attacks but what he wanted was to fuck over the limitless Cursed technique

Remember Gojo is the strongest sorcerer not because he has a lot of energy or physical strength (Yuta and Miguel surpass him in these two categories respectively) the reason his birth changed the balance of the world was because he was born with the Six eyes (a genetic gift that cannot be replicated) and the limitless Cursed technique (a strong technique for sure but also an extremely wasteful one)

It can be dodged but it can no longer be tanked because it's targeting a physical object on a higher existential level, like slashing at it as if it were on a piece of paper. The paper is what he cuts and where Maki, Kashimo, Gojo etc. are on the paper makes them also get cut as a result.

The issue with Thorgeta is that by the time it was announced we already had Reverse Black basically affirm the usage of cosmological/universe size scaling.
The only things interesting about the match up was just figuring out how they would rule on Forced Spirit Fission and Ultra Ego. If Thor still had Mjolnir Worthiness stuff to contend with, then it could have been interesting to consider if Vegeta would be Worthy or not.

I think the emeralds coast far too much on being called infinite. I just don't think it is true given the number of times you need all seven to actually accomplish anything world shattering. I don't even think it is necessarily accurate to call them bottomless energy sources, since Unleashed has them get drained to a point of needing ritual restoration.
