I am forgotten..
Was it kino?

One of the most forgetful movies disney/pixar ever did. I saw the final message of the movie miles away from the final.
It's pretty good and better than a lot of Pixar's output but I think they hard a hard time executing the higher concept stuff while still keeping it entertaining for kids.
Other anon is a faggot. I think its the best thing Pixar has made in a very long time, and I don't think its relatable for kids, so its even better.
Kinda sucks that they slapped such a bs happy end on it, but it doesn't ruin it.
I saw the final message of the movie miles away from the final.
Wow you're a genius anon, it was like when I predicted halfway during "Saving Private Ryan" that they will probably save private Ryan. You know it was such a surprise ending, its like the movie didn't even build up to it, yet I predicted it.
It's my favorite pixar movie
Would've worked better as a short
the fantasy element holds back the movie. I care more about the people on the ground than the afterlife dying or whatever that was.
It was really good and it had a really good message. Death acceptance is something we struggle a lot within the West. It's too bad it came out during corona. It memory-holed the movie and it's important message.
I'm thankful for this movie for spawning that picture of George "Fentanyl" Floyd edited as the movie's poster
Second-rate Inside Out with a boring protagonist and a grating snarky side character
It's literally the best thing they've ever made... if you disregard the final few minutes of the movie.
When I first watched the movie and the real world body swap started I was like FUCK NO and was remembered of Wreck it Ralph becoming a totally different (and shitty) movie halfway in. Surprisingly, it was the best part.
However I wouldn't completely remove the fantasy parts, there's some cool and unique visual gimmicks, I like the part about the weird stoner being able to "travel" to the world of souls, or people meditating being able to get there. It was quite fun.
Second-rate Inside Out
Are you saying Inside Out is good? Fuck no. Also the protagonist looks like a pig. Soul is, if anything, the more mature version. I can't relate to a little girl, but I can relate to a guy clinging to a single goal which doesn't feed him.
Is 1 am so I can't write anything very coherent right now, I'll do it tomorrow, for now I'll try............it was very good, also because it tried to tackle the after"life" of a lot of movies, especially disney movies, live actions too, all those stories that focus on just "the big game" that one event like your entire life should be around that, but that's not it, there is more to it and the movie doesn't spell it out and seem to ask you to think about it and find it yourself.
I too was disappointed that he got stuck in the Candy world, but I realized that just hopping between game references would have made for a rather hollow story.
I thought it was pretty good, but honestly there's not that much staying power. It's definitely not getting a sequel any time soon, but I'm sure Pixar will find a way for some retarded reason...
It's at least better than the other Pixar films this decade (2020s), aside from maybe Inside Out 2.
but I realized that just hopping between game references would have made for a rather hollow story.
Depends. Make the villains get together to invade the other worlds so Ralph has to fight what he was or whatever...
I dare say Illumination could have made a better movie with that premise.
It’s a kids movie where the guy dies in it. It’s a one and done for families
It had soul
Soul was cute and definitely one of Pixar's more mature works. Unfortunately it's also one of their most forgettable, in part due to having released on streaming during the holidays
It’s a kids movie
Watch your words anon, or Brad Bird'll come-a knockin' at your door...
it was whatever. but it feels like Pixar is this massive monolith that doesn't understand their own appeal. EVERY kid gets the premise of your toys coming alive and having adventures. what kid is gonna get the soulful jazz dindu philosophy lesson?
No, it's forgettable no matter where you watch it. And the primary reason why is it portrays the most generic and inoffensive version of spiritual matters that result in it having no personality whatsoever. There is no mythology, no lore, no sense of wonder. It's just boring.
It’s one of the better modern Pixar movies, but still kind of maudlin compared to their early work.
I had some pizza with it. Not bad, especially the part where he realizes his biggest dream was nothing special. He was just some dude playing at a bar, not the next Jimi Hendrix.
I dare say Illumination could have made a better movie with that premise
You want the guys doing minions? I saw Super Mario and it legit put me to sleep, is very well animated, but the story was by the numbers, is like it was trying to go for the lowest common denominator.
character is lightbulb shaped skinnyfat/fat guy
cat is fat
magical green characters are obese/fat based on their facial physique
Why do americans do this? Frankly it's disgusting
Easily one of best Pixar’s works in the past 5 years and I visibly remember the promotions of this back in 2020, but Covid happened and people forgot about it
It's weird that a pixar movie implied everyone has a soul before birth. Wasn't expecting the pro-life argument to come from the same studio that gave us
my panda my choice
I have a crush on Jerry
I think it would've done quite well if it wasn't for covid.
dont care, pixar can suck my balls.
Yeah I wish we got more time in real life stuff. It was a pretty good movie but it could've been better
halfway during "Saving Private Ryan"
halfway
Why is it okay for Pixar to give black characters balloon lips but when anime does it it's racist.
nice numbers
toothless, uninspiring, lacks confidence
