Got most of the character's traits in there too. Except for Pliny's receding hairline and Francis' face looks dissociated from the world instead of at peace within it.

Great batch of episodes. The show is nothing if not consistent in its quality. Was looking forward to the frances one but ended up liking the merian/pliny one more. I love whenever Merian goes full schizo.

First time watching this show. I have to admit that Francis reminds me of the autistic gray pony from horse show. I liked her a lot. Fun episode. The plant could have been annoying, particularly the voice, but he wasn't. The creative team made some good choices with that plant microphone thing.
Merian is a fun character, and her va works hard, but this episode was repetitive bullshit. The two heads got old, fast. The ending was funny. I wouldn't watch it again, though.
No idea if this is a significant detail, but both episodes started because of Pliny. She gave Francis the plant, then gave Merian the egg salad idea. I don't know what I think of Pliny yet. She looked funny in the egg costume.

Oh, awesome you checked out the show! I think StuGo is insanely funny and the plant episode was a good showing of what I like about it. Mundane-turned-crazy ass plots with tons of funny off-hand jokes throughout. I was expecting the plant character to be annoying too, especially with how rude he was to Francis, but his lines and deliveries were pretty funny.

I seriously hope her VA's performance doesn't go unnoticed, she might just have the funniest girl voice I've heard in a cartoon.

Francis has been shown a few times to be strong for her size too, these two characters do share quite a bit of similarities

Back to standards with both segments. I love to see it - Merian, Pliny, Francis (not in that order, tho) == best characters, at the end of the day.

Pliny and Merian honestly feel like two halves of the "main" main character role to me. Probably because Pliny herself hasn't gotten a lot of focus, and either just sets up or supports a lot of the episodes she's in. Merian as a character is a lot more fun to write around so I see why she keeps getting a lot of attention.
Chip is the de facto "designed to be #2 and never #1" character, perfectly fitting. And the remaining three characters are all good and varied flavors of filler cast. You could probably cut them and still have the show function well with only Pliny, Merian and Chip as a trio. Not that I want that to be the case or that I think that'd be better. They're a great and balanced cast for sure.
NTA but I still have trouble defining Pliny's character outside of just "the leader," doesn't help she doesn't have many traits that really set her apart from the others.

She has the best bug-eyed happy face in the show
She's probably the most level headed and empathetic to be the leader.
Lot of eps have been big on being trustworthy and wanting to be considerate for the others (like the pinky promise, teaching Larry he was being scammed, rallying everyone and standing up to Dr Lullah in the first ep)
She also has a thing for exploring and ecology/nature we've seen.
And while others will have funny lines, she's also the most likely to intentionally make a joke and is a general goofball

Pliny and Merian being level headed and taking charge (to rescue Chip)
Francis wanting to do her own thing but still making a sacrifice to help out a friend
Chip going off on his own adventure fraught with danger, but still generally being self assured and successful (hope he can still make a time phone)
Larry and Sara teaming up
The general Pliny and Merian friendship
The character interactions may be the best part of this show.
Though there are some solo adventures and character team ups we haven't seen as much as the main ones, if at all.
I hope they get a chance to explore other groupings more in the future.
