Finally, someone with taste. I'm actually binging SpongeBob as we speak, and it's refreshing to have more expressive animation as opposed to the stiff-looking shit we had back in Seasons 5-9.
It has nothing to do with the drawings themselves. Alot of them are very well done and great cartooning, but in this context, the modern Spongebob just isn't well written and executed, which tends to make everything implemented in the episodes look worse than if it was a good show overall.
Also, this was a show that was great all around, so to see it get as obnoxious and weak as it has by itself is a real bummer, which again, negatively exasperates things overdone in the show.

Patrick Show really did find its footing, and feels closer to the original three seasons than a lot of post 1st movie Spongebob. Not quite there but they clearly do care to an extent.

You're missing out on genuinely good episodes like To Fear a Krabby Patty. SpongeBob only starts to worsen in quality in later Season 5-early Season 6 IMO. Mid Season 9-Season 11 also picks up a bit of steam since Stephen Hillenburg was involved with those seasons.

I recently rewatched season 4 just because of people saying this shit and absolutely not. Season 4 has a few good episodes mostly loaded at the front and the rest is a forgettable blur, and even those good episodes only really compare to the worse episodes from seasons 1 - 3. The quality difference after the movie was jarring to me even as a kid.
