Which modern cartoon damaged the industry/cartoon culture the most. Whether its Steven Universe popularizing the so called "cal arts" style, or shows like The Owl House failing because they waited for a modern audience that mostly didn't show up, all modern cartoons are guilty of something.
I'll also count animated movies like Disney's shit bombing so hard that they had to ungay Inside Out 2. Or indie slop raising a bunch of money to be mid with a gooner audience.
Adventure Time was the one that ruined everything
All of them. Only mentally ill millennial women enjoyed these, and men only watched it because they were gaslit into doing it.
They have 1 common problem
1. Make series with promise that gets people excited
2. This potential either quickly falls apart, like Steven universe after season 1, or never really exists, like the Owl House
3. People delude themselves the badly made result is good
4. Standards decrease and systems get worse due to their delusion
It comes back to one specific origin that has led to the medium's long-term decline:
Shrek and Shrek 2.
Thing has to be liked in order to fit in.

In Disney's case, they saw they needed to be liked AND fit in, and so they made inside out 2 less gay.
