Most of the squad members must be teens, because that's how it works in Kill la Kill and also it plays with the idea of "teenagers with attitude".
And if this is based on the dynamics of super sentai shows, it makes sense that the norm is that the warriors are all teens except for some excptions. I know the original show in which the Power Rangers is based has much younger team members in some seasons (I think thenorigibal yellow was actually a kid).

What is the book about?
Magical girl(teenagers) story. A rift between the real and the magical world opened up allowing the passage of several demons looking to conquer the real world but also 5 guardians spirits. The spirits are incorporeal and had to attach themselves into the first objects they saw, which happens to be a bunch of lewd underwear. Once incorporating into the panties they took flight looking for the most compatible girls in the area to give them their powers.
