I hope this new DCU succeeds because I really like this more light-hearted sci-fi-focused version of the DC world.
From what I've seen in the trailers, this new Superman is based off of some of my favorite Superman comics. And the themes seem to be on point. The whole scene with the robots seems to be in line with Superman's angle towards humanity; he knows that both the robots and human beings are more capable than they themselves do.
I don't like the humor, though. Superman should be, to my mind, both child-appropriate and mature. The humor should be more in line with like the 1966 Batman show with Adam West and Burt Ward. Where it is funny without making loud jokes.
He is an odd choice for the role. I mean maybe his acting was so good that he makes up for his visual discrepancy
Hopefully DC will be sold to a company which actually knows how to use it.

This and Fantastic Four are the only superhero movies I'm planning on seeing in theater in 2025.
Well the humor shown so far seems a bit juvenile, very much James Gunn's style. Which I don't think really fits the character.
We'll have to see how much that drags down the movie once it's out.
