The belt is also a bit of a problem if we're really going to change that many things. At least, in some comic continuities, that square in front - which seems pointless here - represents a metallic device which also serves as a communicator with the JLA team/watchtower, etc. Or similar to a cell/mobile that he could call Lois on, etc.

On Coronswet, it just looks like a design emblem on the belt where something fell off or pealed off, or some such. It's pretty pointless, as is.

However, I'm far more fussed with the padding and the busy lines.

The padding makes no sense and just makes him look like he's wearing loose clothing which in turn makes him convey a certain feebleness. Not so super if the clothes look poorly fitted etc etc...

It really doesn't - but it doesn't look good.
Poorly fitted is a better way to term it. Until we see the movie in action or in more than brief trailer segments, you can't really say something like it makes the character look feeble.
People complained that the saturation is all the DCEU movie was a problem which it was, and this was something you could see in trailers but you only recognized it as a real and serious problem when you saw the movies in a theater, or even just on a TV at home.

The chicken neck doesn't help and the lack of a muscle suit doesn't help either, the lines sucks. Another terrible thing seen in these heroes in Superman is the eyes, they don't have that cool eyes from the comic books, James Gunn is following the realistic line, those Deadpool and Wolverine style eyes and King Orm, Gunn seems to be that guy who discards everything that is fun and makes the comics so special, Zaslav and the investors will have to do what Iger and Disney are starting to do, take away Feige's total power.

Yeah, I'm really not a fan of the Kingdom Come-like symbol, that shit is barely an S, and it only really works with Kingdom Come Clark.

Good point about the Deadpool/white eyes, and to a lesser extend the Spider-Man Homecoming movies with the emoting eyes on the costume. It's been proven that it works in live action.

Again, though, that's some major copium because I just want to see the regular S on this suit
