Why do star wars fans hate this guy?
Why do star wars fans hate this guy?
I live in northern Arizona and we have a pretty dim view of faggots larping as cowboys
Beats me.
He looks like a cringe lord with his hat. Like Super Linkara.
There are rumors he has an iron grip on Star Wars at this point and actively stifles any creativity that isn't exactly what he wants, which is apparently lots of wolves and Ahsoka.
The only reason Andor was made was because Gilroy is friends with Kennedy and she pulled a fuckton of strings to get it made without Filoni's involvement.
HERPA DERPA DERP AH'M A COWBOY
that was invented to protect your head from sun damage and make it easier to see while you worked on the back forty, not hide you balding
Kennedy doing something right with Star Wars? It's just aburd.
fanfiction
ok cool
She was doing just fine with it until fanbois chimped out over TLJ.
Based Kathleen.
Shut up tranny
Just saying.
needs a tard wrangler
she pulled a fuckton of strings to get it made without Filoni's involvement.
No, she just said yes to everything Gilroy wanted to do, just like she said yes to everything JJ and Rian wanted to do and very similar to how she said "yeah, do whatever..." for Solo... until they did whatever and she didn't like it.
Filoni-Endless TCW centric Star wars media
Gilroy-Half baked political drama
Fuck being a star wars fans is pain. I wish Mando stayed a fun anthology type show
Giving creatives control of their own work is . . . LE BAD!
On some level yeah. Movies are a huge collaborative effort and having push back on creatives less good ideas is important. The OT is not 100% Lucas' vision for example
Giving creatives control of their own work is . . . LE BAD
unironically yes, these people never have any self control somebody needs to be reigning them in.
They didn't realize that all of the good stuff in Clone Wars was coming from Lucas and that Filoni was just a go-between. Once he started doing stuff on his own it's obvious he's just a retarded fanboy.
This is why
He's obsessed with wolves and orange buttcheeks
Revenge of the Jedi was supposed to end with the rebel forces in tatters, Leia grappling with her new duties as queen, and Luke walking off alone into the sunset in search of his long lost sister. Then Gary Kurtz got fired and the rest is history.
We were robbed of potential Luke x Leia kino. Curse you george. Curse you.
Because he's just as bad as Kennedy when it comes to shilling his shitty OC Donut.
He's really only interested in his storylines from the clone wars from what I can tell
The problem with the sequels wasnt any individual movie, it was the whole coward-ass notion of just blasting past the existence of the High Republic so they could rehash the same plots and do cameos with old OT actors
this. pic related
It works for individual projects; It's not the best idea when you're supposed to have a consistent trilogy without a chief creative mind(s). Each film on the sequel trilogy shits in the last one, hence it's thematic inconsistance.
I'd be okay with this if he was relegated to cartoons and we had a third guy doing something else while redditors suck off Gilroy
He's a selfish brat with no respect for continuity who wants to recycle his shitty mary sue OCs forever
He was okay until he started repeating the same stories with the same cast forever and ever and ever.
Everything he does now is endless reappearances of Rebels cast in everything. Callbacks to his own made up mystical shit like magic wolves and Dathomir witches. And every other episode involves giant animals that blasters do not work on.
The man ran totally out of ideas more than a decade ago and is rehashing everything too damn many times. He refuses to let his OCs he invented back in 2013 go and keeps adding them to everything.
I am a Star Wars fan and I like him.
It's so funny to me that him and Gilroy are polar fucking opposites
May your Funko Pop collection grow ever larger.
He loves Ahsoka a bit too much
Tarkin I could maybe see making sense, but why the fuck would Vader have shown up?
At the risk of veering off-topic, I thought this guy was DSP when I saw the thumbnail.
Dathomir witches
I prefer the Ewoks version over the Dave Filoni version
kek
Until it topples over and crushes you to death.
Because he makes star wars content
There's a strong parallel between him and Sonic writer Ian Flynn. Not sure what this class of writer is called but both got their start and all of their praise from really good writityng decisons and ideas early on, then both got throttled by stronger corporate management, then the authoirty got relaxed, and then both are just riding off their fame by replacing thought-out writing with lots of memberries. Couldn't believ how fucking awful the Ahsoka show was, that waste of talent and opportunity is criminal. If Filoni can't even write good stories involving his pet character anymore, then nothing is safe.
People are just sick of him. He won't do anything new.
Every single thing he makes now is the same couple things recycled endlessly
Ahsoka, Maul, and Ventress
Wolves
Dathomir Nightsisters
Giant alien animal that is blasterproof
Evil geneticists doing evil lab stuff
The last 5 or so Star Wars entries on Disney+ were all these things beat for beat. Mandalorian, Tales of the Empire, Tales of the Underworld, Acolyte, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan...we get it. He really likes his Clone Wars and Rebels cast and magic wolves.
1. He's a fucking hack who can't write and just uses his work to peddle his racemixing/furry/pedophile fetishes
2. He bulldozes other people's works (and replaces them with shit)
3. , but from Texas
4. He works for Disney. If he had at least had the integrity to refuse to work under Iger and Kennedy after they first cancelled TCW (even though I don't like it, he as its creator had every right to be furious about it) and then botched the Sequels as some others have supposedly done, that would be praiseworthy, but he doesn't even have that.
Let's be honest, it would be almost impossible to find an actor for Tarkin who could hold a candle to Peter Cushing.
Why do star wars fans hate this guy?
huh? i tought everyone liked filoni, unless you mean Anon Babble, in which case the answer is, that Anon Babble hates everything
i tought everyone liked filoni
I've fucking hated him ever since he first showed his ugly mug in public back in 2008
Each film on the sequel trilogy shits in the last one, hence it's thematic inconsistance.
How did JJ Abrams went from teasing Rey to be a Kenobi to her being a Palpatine? I know he had no plan, but he had to have known this was a stupid idea.
You have a lot of people who hate everything about TCW and Disney-related Star Wars content and just cannot be convinced otherwise
People who grew up with TCW3D and/or Rebels are starting to look back on it and realize these shows are 99% kiddie filler and are also starting to notice the pattern present in all FiloniSlop shows.
FiloniSloppa is meant to be watched exactly once, with your brain off, just like the rest of the Disney Wars verse, there's a reason people are starting to call TCW3D proto-Disney Wars. Which is why people who have a high opinion of Filoni and his works have usually only watched his shows once, almost always during their childhood.
TCW was George Lucas' show, not Filoni's. George Lucas is literally its creator and sole executive producer. Filoni was a supervising director. He was rubbing day to day production and delivering Lucas' vision on budget and schedule. He didn't write a single episode during the show's original run. Ahsoka was created by Lucas, by the way, contrary to the popular belief. 90% of the stories and characters on TCW came from Lucas. It's insane how this was a public knowledge before 2014, and ever since then it's like there's been a collective gaslight and history rewrite. Watch the behind the scenes and read the interviews.
Filoni's problem is that he hasn't lived up to George, he rides on the coat tails of the things George created (TCW), running that legacy into the ground by refusing to let the stories end and characters rest, dragging them way past their organic point in the narrative and milking them dry, and inserting his personal cringe taste without restraint (wolves, LOTR faggotry).
man with little creative flow sold out to darth kennedy to get his waifu on the screen, no matter the cost. i dont respect him.
Everyone knows that, dingus. But Filoni is equally to blame for TCW3D because he was just a yes-man. George needs people that challenge him to get the best out of him.
He did challenge him. Watch behind the scenes and read the interviews. He couldn't say no and refuse to do the job, cause he'd be fired, and someone else would've taken the place. And by all accounts, he keeps undoing George's creative decisions: he killed Maul in Rebels the first chance he got, pacifist Mandalorians have been collectively memory-holed, Jango and Boba are now Mandalorians again, Nightsisters are back, Ventress is back, her relationship with Vos has been narratively destroyed, Darksaber was destroyed in Mando, introduced beskar, and so on. Filoni is a reactionary fanboy. He doesn't have a vision, like George did. And it could be seen ever since Rebels, which was the first show that was actually his.
When exactly is it clarified that Jango and Boba aren't Mandalorian?
The problem is that while JJ's "mystery box" is a whole load of bullshit it did at least try to set up something for the trilogy to follow. It was all vacuous nothing and empty plot hooks but it was a pretty easy lay up all the same. All JJ had to do was follow the thread of questions. Instead he felt he needed to get subversive and threw the whole thing out to set up a new game he didn't have answers for either. Though that paltry defense aside the real problem is even bigger. Who spends four billion dollars to get the brand and then just decides to WING IT? Like every star wars geek on the planet probably would have chugged a half dozen energy drinks and would have the working outline of a trilogy almost immediately. You could have adapted the books. The comics. Anything. I know Star Wars is (was) a bran that prints money but holly fuck this level of half assed laziness was something for the history books.
Back in 2010 when TCW S2 was coming out, George explicitly said that Boba and Jango were not Mandalorians. Which is why that line of Almec saying that Jango is not a Mandalorian, but a common county hunter was in the episode, specifically at Lucas' request. It causes a big fuss back then. From Lucas' perspective, it made sense - even if it was not a popular decision.
Cue Mandalorian S2, Filoni made them Mandos again, cuz he is a fanboy first, and he betrayed George's vision.
The first TCW Mandalorian arc has them actively deny the Fetts being Mandalorian and dismissing them as random bounty hunters that got a hold of the gear. Of course since they had a politician that was later revealed to be a corrupt sleazeball be the one to deliver this exposition, it's easy to undo since you could just have it be a lie that the Mandalorian government used to save face and deny any involvement in having a role in starting the Clone Wars.
Every single thing he makes now is the same couple things recycled endlessly
Ahsoka, Maul, and Ventress
Ventress
recycled endlessly
wasn't she not on screens since like, season 5 of the clone wars? how is that recycling endlessly?
She also showed up in the live action shows and got her own spinoff.
also showed up in the live action shows
You're thinking of Cad Bane.
So what's up with the Clone Wars having a mandalore planet and peaceful people? In most other stuff they are a warrior tribe not affiliated with one race. Sorry I actually just had this arc on in the background recently and was confused.
anon are you okay?
ventress has neither been in live action nor got her own spinoff
I think Star Wars is one of the biggest examples of needing both creatives and tard wranglers.
If they had wanted it to unambiguously stick, they wouldn't have given the line to Almec. Even when TCW was retconning the old EU back in earlier seasons, they added a layer of vagueness to things, like the argument over whether Grievous submitted to the upgrades or he deliberately chose them being some weird "Have your cake and eat it too" solution to acknowledge the shuttle crash origin story while pushing George's idea of Grievous getting his cybernetics gradually.
It only started getting completely irreconcilable in Season 3 when the Citadel arc killed Even Piell, they went in a different direction with Ventress and from there, the "If you squint, you can make TCW and CWMMP mesh together" arguments died completely as the reality of T-Tier canon really set in.
Maybe it's just time to let Star Wars die.
They didn't wing it. Development of TLJ goes back all the way to 2014 during TFA's production, and RoS' development started in 2015. The plan was for the three directors to communicate with each other regarding story elements and while the overall franchise was guided by the studio and production companies. The actual issues are Colin Trevorrow failing to produce a useable script leading them to boot him in June 2017 and not having a replacement until Abrams stepped in that September, which meant only 11 months were available before principle filming began to produce a new script. The other issue is that Rian Johnson's ideas were ultimately detrimental to the entire concept of the trilogy and poorly received by the audience. On a surface level TLJ is just the ESB of the new trilogy, the inevitable setback of the heroes before they return triumphant in the third film, but whereas ESB keeps the failure personal rather than organizational (the rebels take a beating but still maintain strength) TLJ makes the failure organizational - the New Republic government and military are completely gone and the Resistance consists of two dozen guys in a tramp freighter. That resulted in not only RoS being a rush job but also needing to wallpaper over its preceding film because they accidentally let Johnson torch the internal narrative. You can quite literally skip TLJ and not miss a plot beat for the Sequel trilogy.
Killing Piell fucked over that Coruscant Nights series. Shame because it's a fun little trilogy
The explanation for Mandalorians in TCW is more or less that the traditional Mandalorian culture inevitably results in both internal instability and the rest of the galaxy signing up to kick your teeth in.
Shes been showing up randomly in other shows and had her own 3 episode segment in the newest "Tales Of The..." season. Ventress has simply overstayed her usefulness as a character and is clearly just being kept around because Filoni really likes her. She is literally brought back from the dead after her character arc completes for no real reason.
Shes not even evil anymore so you dont even get the fun of a good female villain.
Shes also just another powerful force user who was apparently just running around causing issues for the Empire during the OT.
Gotcha. Thanks anon I've always been spotty on the specifics on the race vs creed thing with the Mandalorians.
"Mandalorian" is a sociocultural group that allows for converts.
