I think it's simpler than a lot of people are making it out to be. Nothing original is getting greenlit in Hollywood and people are resentful about it. I actually like the Aladdin movie I'll admit. It wasn't the original but it did feel like it's own thing and visually it was very nice to look at when the weather was gloomy. I liked that Genie got a little love interest and I liked Jasmine's song. To me it's one of the better remakes. Cinderella was good too. Haven't enjoyed any of the others.
