Solomon Grundy is nothing like Joker. He gets hired because people want Joker like how Blum has range but is hired because people want Spike. Also range doesn't make a good actor.

He only has one villain voice, but he has plenty of range outside that role. Tell me with a straight face that Snakebite and the TSA manager from Scooby Doo on Zombie Island sound anything like Joker.

Cowboy Bebop is one of my favorite shows ever. I like Steve Blum as Spike Spiegal but in every other role it feels like Blum is just doing the same voice but just more growly and raspy.

I like Keanu Reeves and the John Wick movies but it was kind of obvious they had him voice Shadow just to get that name recognition.

He was good the couple times he emoted. "Why won't you leave me alone?" and "Now you know how I've felt for the last 50 YEARS" come to mind. If you want to hear him try even less for Shadow, listen to the voice clips he got in Shadow Generations, he sounds checked out, it's actually sad that he didn't sound like he cared. At least in the movie when he wasn't emoting it still felt like the character was brooding. In the game it doesn't even feel that way.

I also like the defense force in this thread. We know they're good VAs the objective is to point out that they have limitations.

I hate how they really forced the Morty stuttering out of him for Blendin in Gravity Falls.

I doubt he was given much voice direction for the game.
