"Felix, don't come to track tomorrow."
So much for Mike's new chance at happiness. Thanks, David!
Mike wouldn't have the guts
Mike looks down and grabs his shirt
A second panel of him explicitly grabbing the other side like he's making fake boobs
Trans Mike soon?
The team now has too many members and Mike is the weakest link.
Maybe not kicked out but off the main rotation, but basically benched/on second string or whatever it's called, thus justifying the name of this chapter.
Just watch, just watch that be the point of this bullshit.
Taeshi is like that one bit from The Boondocks with Mike only it's a gag:
Nigga did I just catch you wantin' to be shit?!?
*only it's NOT a gag
ha yeah that'll teach em
explicitly the second-best running on the team
considered the weakest link anyway anyway
It would make no sense but hey when has that ever stopped Taeshi before?
I'd like to hope this is the team getting on James' case for being such a careless airhead.
Mike accepts he'll never be the fastest boy so he becomes the fastest girl
it's not about Lucy
Thank goodness for small favors. On the other hand, now I'll be even more annoyed if Mike's beating himself up over worst cat anyway.
Where'd she state the team rankings? I forgot.
I don't remember her ever doing that. But it's just basic logic: Mike was the best on the team right up until David joined. Ergo, Mike is now second-best.
I’m so happy for Michelle realizing what makes her happy being herself
Did anyone else on the team say it or was it just James claiming Mike was the best? Currently this comic makes me think James gushes over people he wants to bang and they may not be as good as he claims they are.
I suppose it's never been officially declared. But given that James immediately latched onto David only because he's faster than Mike, it stands to reason that James likewise latched onto Mike for being faster than the rest of them. Otherwise, James would have been busy gushing over the team's then-fastest runner. The only member of the team Mike's talked about wanting to beat is David, and only David is ever shown to beat Mike. So I feel pretty confident that Mike is runner up.
We've been dicks to Mike lately, maybe we should organize a sleepover orgy tonight as an apology.
Track team has to remove one member of team to meet requirements
Have a race-off to see who is removed
Despite being second best runner Mike botches the race to be last because he’s heckin sad and heckin feels bad for the team dealing with him and heckin thinking of Sandy or Lucy
Track team is written out of the comic
You hate to see it
Mike would just cut to the chase and volunteer to leave before any of that happens. He's one of the newest members but no longer the fastest. Mike wouldn't want to break up the existing friend group, can't justify David getting kicked, and now his membership has become a source of pain. The team might be unhappy to see him go, but I think they would reluctantly accept his logic, wish him well, and promptly drop out of the comic due to lack of relevance.
He latched onto Mike for being fast despite not even training. His speed's not been put into relation to the rest of track team at all. If anything, it stands to reason that he's the slowest right now since he's new. Besides, for all we know, James could have already latched onto every track team member in the past.
I think that would actually be the straw where I just quit entirely.
It's like, I know Mucy is fated no matter how fucking dumb it is, but sometimes there's little moments where you hope she sees reason and either starts working towards it in a way that makes sense or drops it entirely.
Mike getting a glimpse of a better friend group in the track team just to have David work his way in like a virus and get Mike chucked out... yeah fuck that.
Mike being the slowest makes very little sense given that David barely beat him just one page ago. It would also be rather strange that Mike only cares about beating the fastest member of the team if everyone else is also ahead of him.
Truly, David is Taeshi's braindead angel of vengeful torment.
I think that would actually be the straw where I just quit entirely.
No you won't.
Welcome to the hotel Roseville. You can always check out but you can never leave.
You're stuck forever. Decades will pass and you'll still periodically check out this dumpster fire of a comic instead of doing better things with your life because every now and then you'll gain enough free time to wonder what this comic's up to, only to realize it's still doing the same song and dance it's been doing for over 10 years. It will be the comic's 20th anniversary next year and absolutely nothing will have changed. It will be 2036 before you know it, and you will still be checking out what's going on in Roseville high, only to see that it's the same shit and it's more Mike misery porn. Who knows the real reason why you're doing this; maybe it's because you feel nostalgic for the good old days and feel betrayed at the direction this series has taken. Maybe you're doing it because, like a train accident, you just can't look away. Maybe you're doing it because Suitshi are horrible human beings and the sense of sick amusement you get from both shitting on the comic online and uncovering the innumerous skeletons in their closets simply cannot be found anywhere. Whatever the reason, you'll be back.
So yeah any proof the author of this was Suitcase?
you will never have this
finding it hard to find reasons to live bro
This is too agreeable for Lucy. Where's the pissy self-righteousness?
Her BPD brain worms were feeling generous and kind that day
I suppose this could also be from the what-if chapter when Mike really does turn down Sandy. Lucy's mentality in it seemed to be that once she-demon Sandy was truly out of the picture, Mike was no longer really at fault for all the stuff that happened between them. Otherwise she would not have fallen back in with him so quickly.
We didn't see anyone but David and Mike running. And of course it'd make sense for Mike to care if he doesn't want to be last. That's if Mike cares about his performance at all and isn't just sad because of what James said.
Nah I think this is just one of those napkin scribbles. It is non-canon and everyone can be more out-of-character than they already are. This was probably drawn as a meme.
It's not stated anywhere that David is the fastest on the team either. He's new too
David himself said the race was close. It doesn't make much sense that Mike is the slowest but also barely beating out David, unless you're arguing that David is second slowest on the entire team. But then why is James so enthused about him? Why the joke about not needing Mike anymore? The team wasn't trying to fill a roster when they picked Mike up.
James is most likely just enthused about fast people in general. And the joke would make just as little sense if David and Mike actually are the two fastest. It's just a stupid joke / bad writing.
The joke would make far more sense my way, though, as would James' gushing. Mike was the star of the team before, hence them needing him. Now David has taken his spot, making Mike functionally irrelevant. Besides, that just wraps back around to the question of why James would be so enthused about two people who are both slower than his own friend group.
Mike wouldn't be irrelevant if he's the second fastest of the team since they are, well, a team and not just solo runners. It'd also be really stupid if Mike and David are randomly faster than a whole trained group, but I guess I shouldn't put it past Taeshi. Still, you're arguing like James literally only cares about the given single fastest runner at school without consideration of any other factors. I don't think that's it, he's just easily enthused in general and flippant.
Fickle I mean, not flippant. Also, James cares about Mike's potential, even if he may be slower than the team right now. He basically states so in Track Meet.
Mike getting a glimpse of a better friend group in the track team just to have David work his way in like a virus and get Mike chucked out... yeah fuck that.
It's practically a horror story from a certain angle. No matter what Mike does, he's desteined to have to deal with the table group to varying degrees. Even if he tries to make friends with people away from all of that drama, one of them will follow him and fuck it all up.
Mike wouldn't be irrelevant if he's the second fastest of the team since they are, well, a team and not just solo runners
I would agree, but that is contingent on Taeshi understanding or bothering to research how track teams work.
Still, you're arguing like James literally only cares about the given single fastest runner at school without consideration of any other factors.
I am, because James randomly fell for David, a person he had zero experience with, after seeing him run faster than Mike. I just do not find it terribly convincing that James would be over-awed by a guy who's faster than the slowest guy on the team.
James cares about Mike's potential, even if he may be slower than the team right now. He basically states so in Track Meet.
Another question worth asking is why James would assume that Mike (and subsequently David) would have such great potential if they're both running slower than anyone else on the team. Surely either of them would only stick out if they were, sans training, already better than at least some team members.
The thing is, what you're stating would be how things would go normally in life. But due to Taeshi's writing history, I would not put it past her to have james only care about the fastest guy and such just to make him stop caring about mike for the sake of whatever plot she's cooked up here.
Common sense and how things actually work just go out the window when she gets a chance to make this character feel like dirt.
I would agree, but that is contingent on Taeshi understanding or bothering to research how track teams work.
If she did that then Mike would suffer a career-ending injury lmfao. This catboy must suffer until he eventually ends up with Lucy again.
I don't think that Taeshi would give her fursona broken goods. Hence why Mike is still a virgin and is not allowed to try out other relationships. He must remain pristine for her eventual victory.
Why the fuck is she even torturing Mike over December still? She's the one who wrote that meltdown in the first place. This isn't even consequences of a characters actions, its just weirdly vindictive.
Because while past Taeshi may have been able to separate the suffering of her white cat fursona from her own, modern Taeshi cannot. It probably didn't help that own Taeshi's IRL mental breakdown happened around December, coinciding with Lucy's. So when freshly returned girlboss Lucy blames Mike for her woes, self-inserting Taeshi followed suit.
Because this comic is quite literally a mentally ill womanchild's self-insert fursona vent piece. She is Lucy and her husband is split into Mike and Paulo.
But then how the fuck will we get the payoff to this foreshadowing? Was it a red herring all along?
Lucy was at the arcade, right? Remember how she blueballed Mike on the apology? It's all saved up for her, baby.
I think by now she's just settled into a groove. The fandom loves it when mike suffers now and while it got too much for her at one point, it seems to not bother her now.
Or she thinks one good thing happening to him once a year is enough to balance how much she shits on him.
100000000000000000000000 percent.
Im also very certain Suitcase has a micropenis.
Yawn.
I guess at least its not soiled with Lucy.. at least yet.
Or, perhaps worse, Taeshi thinks this is what it's like to be written sympathetically. Sure, it's endlessly self-indulgent of her, but isn't this basically the same thing she does to farm sympathy for Lucy and Paulo?
Yeah, but it won't be. Taeshi decided over a decade ago that David, Mike, Paulo in that order were the most athletic boys in the cast and it won't occur to her to figure out where James and co fit in to the ranking.
100000000000000000000000 percent.
Not that I don't believe you, but I just don't have any proof so far.
Im also very certain Suitcase has a micropenis.
Yeah I believe you.
Taeshi don't ruin Finn by turning him into Grey David.
think about that is those two, whether undeserved or not, are allowed to have good things happen to them to balance it out a lot more than Mike does.
Mike gets the track team as a bandage attempt to his rep but the mall outing had him magically run into lucy to ruin his day, and the movie with james had to end with David being a lame ass meme character and ruining that too. Mike literally cannot have anything good in this comic at this point. It's been like this since Lucy was written out of the comic and it isnt getting any better.
There is two small pieces of evidence for this however. Funnily enough they have been claimed by "mysterious" DMCAs.
One was a "joke" comic Taeshi did of Abbey telling Molly he was gonna have to rape her and another was YET another Taeshi drawing of Molly sitting on Abbey's lap, kissing his cheek while he was all flustered.
It's very bizarre things to draw between your minor sibling characters. But given how much Suitcase adored Molly's character is is pretty sussy. I'm pretty sure that's the whole reason Madison as a character was created.
Ah yes, here is an artist's recreation.
This one? I thought this comic you're referencing was a joke edit based on the fic that he allegedly wrote. The font looks extremely edited
