Sometimes I go back to real good stuff about demons and grim tales and wish HH could even slightly touch the eloquent writing and ambiguous, iconic or mesmerizing character building of things such as LOK. And before you start saying "a woman can't do that", LOK was written by a woman.

The joke IS the censor you morons. In a show filled with swearing and sex jokes left and right, a legitimate censor bar-style censor implies something truly vile and it's funnier left up to imagination as to what the hell he said.
Removing the censor would remove the entire joke.

I believe that there isn't a big enough pushback simply because the use of "retard" isn't pointed at a specific demographic anymore. You say it to someone who is being daft, a fool, or ignorant. I have never once in my life heard someone actually call people with disabilities "retards" in an unironic way like I've heard 'faggot' and 'nigger' used.
