Cassie had a Macy's Thanksgiving Parade balloon

now disproportionately forgotten

What the hell happened? Even most other educational shows from the same time period are still remembered.

Nothing from the 00s is relevant anymore because it was all shit. The only exception is the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, that's it.

this is what I wanna do to cassie

are you kidding? SpongeBob is still relevant. Family Guy. Avatar. Those are all incredibly well known and relevant.

If you want shows not running anymore, Invader Zim, Codename KND, Kim Possible, Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phantom.

Granted, all of those are way, way more famous than Dragon Tales.

Someone was 13 when the year 2000 hit.

Spongebob

Family Guy

Avatar

Irrelevant and shit

Visually, it's great (especially before they went digital), but the writing is absolute pablum. People grew out of it and left it behind like Barney. Also Enrique sucks. He's a total one-note character. Every line he has is annoying Spanglish like

aye dios mio, los quesadillas are to pequeno por cinco de mayo.........si, i miss colombia

dragon tales was also 1999

'00s stuff basically got vaporized from public consciousness. Some 90s stuff did too, if it was handled poorly, like Rugrats was HUUUUGE but it's sort of dead now.

I would totally put my Bremen Town Musicians in her?

It's actually normal for things to fade from public consciousness after a few decades.
When that doesn't happen all it means is that the current culture that replaced those old things is shit, which is why those old properties are still relevant.

Rugrats is one of those things that will be back in some form eventually.

This is also true. As shitty as the 00s were, the 2020s are 10 times worse.

It already came back like 3 years ago, and flopped horribly, so they moved it to Nicktoons.
I don't even think it's been renewed for a third season yet.

I think they erased the new show from streaming services, and any new Rugrats media (the videogame, storybooks) uses the original designs and stories

you fucking retard

derp derping derp derp

as shitty as the 00s were

Looking back were they really that shitty? Fast food was still cheap, internet wasn’t policed by sjws, hypochondriacs were discouraged, vegans were socially acceptable targets of ridicule who knew their place, internet was still personalized and not pre packaged commercial slop, DVD releases were a guarantee and were loaded with bonus content, Netflix mailed DVDs and that was it, Blockbuster still existed, kids weren’t glued to iPads, the video game companies actually gave a shit, you got to experience the tail end of VHS.

They seem great compared to now, yeah.

Kys faggot

speaking of irrelevant and shit

Only one reply in this thread is actually discussing the cartoon in question, while everyone else is culture-warring about decades. I fucking hate this board.

They weren't that shitty. Maybe compared to the 90s they were, but that was the absolute apex of American power. If you were an adult then 2001, 2003, and 2008 really sucked, but in terms of Anon Babble juvenalia 2000-2007 was fantastic. A lot of classic Pixar movies came out in this decade, for example, as did the first massive budget superhero films like Spiderman. A bunch of great shows debuted on TV back when it was still a living medium, and many late 90s shows like Spongebob or Ed, Edd, and Eddy kept going strong. People still obsess over all this stuff today, even kids who were born in the 2010s. Really, the problem has been the lack of innovation since that time period.

Internet speeds were faster compared to the 90s, and connections were independent of the phone line. Home computers were more powerful too.

I'll give the 00s this much. They at least had their own identity. The identity they had sucks, but that's better than the 20s which has no identity of its own other than digging up old shit from previous, much better decades and ruining them.

So you're telling me Gangsta Spongebob sucked?

swallowing toothpaste

Dragon Tales was a kid's isekai cartoon. There are so many isekai cartoons these days.

Dragon Tales just doesn't get there in the leagues of Arthur and Calliou as influential cartoons. The art style really isn't that appealing.

I agree, the 2000s were pretty solid apart from 9/11.

caillou

influential

You mean the cartoon that enabled over a decade of goanimate autism?

SpongeBob got at least double that.
Laura Haruna (because Hamtaro himself originated in 1997), FLCL, Fairly Odd Parents, Mirumo De Pon, Gurren Lagann and Panty and Stocken are still relevant.

Homestar Runner originated in 1996 while SpongeBob originated from 1999 (pilot was in 1997), they don't count.

If the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy counts then so does Kirby Right Back At Ya.

HR in 1996 was just the book. Actual cartoons didn’t start until 2000, sbemail started in 2001.

Thats the point.

And the recession

Famicom post.

It was a plot point in the show Upload so at the very least, whoever wrote that into the script remembers it.

things only stick around in peoples minds as long as new stuff keeps being made.
its all about momentum

Shut the fuck you stupid faggot

Kys thirdie

I remember in 1st grade I had a classmate that drew me another boy, and himself as dragons along with Ord and Cassie. He was a pretty good artist for a 6 year old, but I remember thinking to myself "why did he draw us as dragons, and not kids?". I'm pretty sure he's a furry now, but aside from that I hope he's doing well.

Neopets got fucked because they sold the show rights to WB and the website to Viacom half a year later, guaranteeing neither ever did anything with the part of the IP they owned.

It's a special cartoon for special people.

Ron Rodecker was a great teacher and father. The people criticizing this show ain't shit by comparison, and are mad about it.
