Ignoring the obvious dilemma with his VA, how are you going to make this character work for the reboot? A big gimmick was that he was a conspiracy nut (but couldn't see obvious stuff going on in front of him), but all his conspiracies have now been proven to be true.

Now he doesn't look like an oblivious schizo, he looks like a hindsight genius. What are you supposed to do?

Most normies still believe what the tv news tells them.

They'll refuse to believe shit that's been acknowledged or admitted like the Gulf of Tonkin incident being a lie. You can show them all the evidence and they'll refuse to see it.

He falls for obvious fedposting, while ignoring the real conspiracies.
Bada-bing, bada-boom
And he knows about Joseph and takes pleasure in keeping him astranged from John Redcorn

It's impossible to make an actually funny conspiracy theorist character today. Observations about the government and media being shit aren't jokes, they're just reality. Maybe if they're really desperate they'll go for some easy tired jokes about the flat earth or aliens.

how are you going to make this character work for the reboot?

If it was a reboot it wouldn't be a problem because they wouldn't need the original cast of voice actors. Only it's not a reboot, it's a 20 years later continuation of the original series.

they'll go for some easy tired jokes about the flat earth or aliens

Ah, welcome back Inside Job.

You're not exactly settling the OP's nerves, but that's correct. The anticipation around King of the Hill S14 has made me realize just how many people don't understand the difference in terminology between "reboot" and "revival," KOTH being the latter. Or even a "sequel," if you will.

Dale has always been one of the most eccentric in the series cast, so it can't be that hard to get his characterization right... right?

Lol whatever you say Gribble

we'll find out in the next month or two

all his conspiracies have now been proven to be true

they're going to make of fun of you with Dale and you're gonna like it

It's impossible to make an actually funny conspiracy theorist character today

So says the alien!

Sticks works well as a conspiracy theorist, as well at Ron Jakowski in GTA V. The conspiracy theorist is still very much around today. There were big conspiracies about COVID, and there is no shortage of books written by independent authors about government, aliens, religious, and military conspiracies.

Make him a pizzagate and big mike truther

but all his conspiracies have now been proven to be true.

Like the real Fidel Castro stole a cartoon character's Lawnmower?
The Mongols are invading.
His wife was fucked by Aliens of the Ayoo kind?
Allergies are the result of plants developing biochemical defense mechanisms against humans.
The Pyramids were originally built upside-down and just tipped over eventually.
The US Postal service was founded to perform food deliveries.

who voted for the bad orange man?
it was bill, obviously.

Sticks was fun but she was a conspiracy theorist about a world that was al her own. There's no real pitfalls to worry about when you can just make up whatever for her to be insane about without needing to worry about what it means in the real world. Dale lives in a world like ours. That comes with pitfalls of worrying about what you can and can't say.

They all refused because he was from New York.

At least the first time. The second and third time he ran, they felt like they had no choice but to vote for him because the other options were genuinely *that* bad. But they had to hold their noses.

Except Dale. Dale always liked Trump. He followed the Q, too.

Man I fucking hate that preview image and it fills me with dread. It feels exactly like the same shittiness we got from the latest few Futurama reboots and the Rocko's Modern Life movie. "New thing happens, character has to deal with it, isn't that WACKY" is not what I want from King Of The Hill. Even when the show did do that sort of plotline, at its best it handled it better than just shoving some new gimmicky thing in your face.

or three

What the fuck are you talking about? He believed in Roswell aliens and that the government spies on people through cheese. He didn't believe the election was stolen or whatever you are hinting at.

Dale famously refuses to vote. Hank is a wild card, you can justify him voting for either side, third party or refuse to vote. Boomhour is interesting becouse he doesn't talk much we know he is a poon hound and a bit of a goofball but altemetly a decent man. He also lives in a conservative area and is a cop. He seems like another wild card like Hank. Bill does whatever he is told. I think there was a joke about someone telling him who to vote for, and he just went with it. Bill is an idiot and easily manipulated by strong personalities, so he probably voted for Trump all three times. Maybe and this is a big maybe he associates Trump with Corona, and he might vote against him based on vibes. Unless maybe Bill liked the lockdowns cause everyone was as lonely as him but he probably went stir crazy and hated corona.

That gas mask hung on the wall is sending me

Bill liked the lockdowns

I keep wondering where people lived where "lockdowns" were a thing. I was in Philadelphia during Covid. Other than my kid having to get his temperature checked with a laser thermometer before being allowed in daycare and masks being encouraged, but not enforced, everything was generally business as usual. The places that decided to be extra cautious about it but not pivot into new revenue streams all died. Diner at my corner? Gone. They refused to let unvaccinated people in or even order pickup. Lunch counter at my opposite corner? Closed their dining room and did /only/ takeout from a new split-door they installed instead after removing their old one. Passed by it last month and they're still in business.
People were unmasked on buses, in municipal buildings, in bars and restaurants and nobody was "locked down." If that's how it was in such an extremely blue city, I can't imagine a blood red state like Texas had any lockdowns at all. Fuck outta here with that bullshit.

Kill him, make Joseph the new conspiracy wacko who always try to find out why the government worked with the aliens to kill his dad

daycare

allowing strangers to be your children's parents

NGMI

Anon you don’t have kids at all.

If I had kids I wouldn't let strangers raise them in an urban bughive

literally proved point.

Plus wealthy people did that shit for centuries (nannies, boarding school, ect).

Have him ignore all the current conspiracies as they are manufactured by corporations to manipulate the market or are government psyops meant to distract from what is really happening.

How he reacted to that health insurance CEO getting two in the back would be interesting to see, but the show likely won't touch on that because it was in production long before that and no one in America is allowed to say anything anymore without the threat of a rich person suing them.

To be fair, conspiracies wouldn't be necessary if the cattle just did what the government wants them to do.

The only characters I can say for certain voted for Trump are Kahn and Minh

Aristocrats are all sociopaths and degenerate sex pests. It's almost like that have a bunch of attachment issues or something.

Kys tranny

The stuff in the images feel dated already, the virtual reality fad ended like 3 years ago and e-scooters are a old thing.

See, it´s stuff like this that makes me semi optimistic about the continuation. These characters have such strong personalities that it's surprisingly easy to write their reactions to different scenarios.

I love Anon Babble RP threads where people just perfectly write characters in response to something incredibly out of their wheel house perfectly in character.

So now you gotta make Dale either:
1. So insanely out there that he thinks the real conspiracies are just conspiracy cover-ups
2. Dale was proven right a couple of times so now he believes he's right 100% of the time and has a track record if anyone questions him.

First seems most likely, second could be funny for an episode with Bill or something. But based on the poster, it looks like they're just gonna turn him into a sheep who VRs all the time, vapes, and probably engages in cryptocurrency, almost like his new bit is irony. A guy who is extremely paranoid but falls for the most surveilled practices ever.

Why do the cattle always want to do things the hard way?

if

lol I knew it

Better than being an absentee parent. Don't have kids if you aren't going to bother raising them

but all his conspiracies have now been proven to be true.

Such as?

Elite pedophile rings at the highest level of government, media, and industry.

.t xitternigger
Dale would not be a Qtard. He would have his own seperate batshit theory about Trump that doesn't involve riding his cock. If anybody it'd be Peggy getting into Q after reading about it on Facebook or whatever.

Oh my God. Hank, you are not gonna believe what I read on the internet this morning... The government is trafficking children, Hank. They are trafficking children through underground tunnels.

Wha--Now where the hell did you go and read something that damn ridiculous? You're starting to sound like Dale for God's sake.

Dale is a man who TAUGHT HIMSELF RUSSIAN to ensure he'd be able to listen in on the commie bastards' panning.
If he's trading crypto then it's so he knows what his enemy is doing and how they think.

wealthy people did something means it's good actually

Your kid will grow distant

I think Hank did in a lesser of two evils way.

Certainly don't remember that episode

Sigh.. if only you could find a proper mate, you could educate your offspring in the way of the blade..alas no female wishes to make your companionship

I'm sure all the people visiting Epstein Island had nannies growing up.

With Hank I imagine he hated Trump but voted for him because the alternatives were THAT bad to him. Meanwhile Peggy was a Hilary/Harris nut and Hank just hides the fact he voted for Trump while pretending to support Peggy

I'm gay, but at least I'm not having kids I don't pay strangers to raise. You live in fucking Philadelphia, rides buses full of crackheads and fent fiends, and someone else raises your own child.

They're eating the DOGS, Hank! Ladybird is not safe in her own dog house!

But you hate it when she sleeps in the bed, Peggy

Hank you are NOT seeing the bigger picture!!

Hank indulges her so Ladybird can sleep on the bed

Ugh, there's no way she is alive in the sequel.

I don't even want koth to exist in this godless future.

There were big conspiracies about COVID

Yes, but those were all true. Dale's supposed to be a kook.

Government and big tech colluding to censor the truth and any dissent. Big pharma poisoning for profit. Processed food being horrible for you. Food pyramid being a lie. Biden being completely senile and the government being run by nameless actors behind the scene while the media does everything they can to hide and deny it.

that's right it's really scary out there! don't have kids! especially if you're white!

Wanna know what separates a conspiracy theory from the truth?
About 2 weeks.

On one hand, true.
On the other hand, just the other day we saw the wealthiest entertainment company in the world fuck up the writing for a movie that already existed, already written, when all they needed do was to remake it 1:1 in live action

Like the real Fidel Castro stole a cartoon character's Lawnmower?

Easily written into the show

The Mongols are invading.

The US and Chinese relations are a distraction from this

His wife was fucked by Aliens of the Ayoo kind?

Well Dale clearly isn't the father. Who could it really be?

Allergies are the result of plants developing biochemical defense mechanisms against humans.

I dropped outta high school but there are big words so this is probably true

The Pyramids were originally built upside-down and just tipped over eventually.

Gravity has been known to tip things over

The US Postal service was founded to perform food deliveries.

They got caught and became Door Dash
So yes, Dale is in fact correct

Philadelphia is an irredeemable shithole and you know it. Better to live anywhere else that isn't an urban hellscape, especially if you're raising a family

Name one good thing about Philadelphia.

I'd argue Disney has been consistently shitting the bed for the last decade at least.
Mike Judge on the other hand has still got it if Beaver and Buffcoat is anything to go by
Actually looking at this poster for the B&B reboot gives me hope as well. I don't remember these two ever pulling out a smart phone outside of the movie

I lived in California during COVID. We couldn't enter any building without a mask on, and just about every business required you to wear a mask while working. Social distancing was enforced. Many business also started encouraging or requiring people to be vax'd in order to continue working. Worst of all, hospitals limited people to a single visitor a day. My grandfather lay dying in the hospital and I couldn't even see him because he was only allowed one visitor, and his sons got priority.
Congrats on your state not getting hit hard with lockdown stupidity, but don't you dare try to pretend all lefty states were like that. I wasn't allowed to see my dying fucking grandfather thanks to blue state bullshit, so YOU get the fuck outta here with that bullshit. Dishonest prick.

He lived in Philly, Trying to enforce covid lockdowns on the black population would have been too "racist", especially after gentle giant George ODed on fentanyl.

I'm sure they had no problem going after whites who didn't comply though.

look up life satisfaction and wealth correlations

nooo rich people have awful lifes

Yes, but those were all true.

awkward conversation with Khan about whether he eats cats or dogs because he's Chinese or Korean

definition of vaccine was changed to sell a not-vaccine

vaccine didn't stop infection

vaccine didn't stop transmission

vaccine has signifigant dangers

The episode in Season 1 that brings Khan and his family in already did this joke. Did you people even watch the show?

Those rich people are fucked up because they weren't raised right. IE absentee parents who just had someone else raise their child while they were busy at an Eyes Wide Shut orgy

yeah best to not have kids or a family or anything, anonymous poster is right.

Hank was Jeb! diehard and stuck with him to the bitter end. He doesn't like trump because he'sa new yorker and eats his steak with kietchup Wrote in Jeb! on his ballot in protest.

Bill votes for whoever Hank tells him to.

Dale doesn't vote.

Boomhauer probably third party.

Peggy makes a big show of voting for Hillary but caves in at the last minute and votes for trump at the booth.

Luan for some weird fringe party that Lucky is a member of that's only the ballot in 5 states

Kahn and Mihn are huge magats. Kahn becomes extra obnoxious about it when he realizes Hank doesn't like Trump.

As for 2024 elections, I don't think they happened yet in universe

this is so gay if they don't just stick the series in a never-ending 2007 it'll be complete shit.

yeah best to not have kids or a family or anything

I never said anything like that you disingenuous fuck. I said don't raise kids in a shithole where you're taking the bus to pick them up from daycare because you chose to prioritize living in a crackhead infested urban dumpster fire of a city.

>vaccine didn't stop infection

>vaccine didn't stop transmission

Wait til you hear that a bullet proof vest isn't 100% guaranteed.

vaccine has signifigant dangers

The highest estimates state that 1/10,000 people have some mild condition. Its literally more dangerous to step on a plane lmao

This is pretty spot-on. I could see Bill voting for Hillary thinking that's who Peggy is voting for but doesn't know that she switched her vote

Buck Strickland is 1000% a Trump guy

Enrique would be a Hillary diehard

John Redcorn wanted Bernie to win and begrudgingly voted for Hillary

Nancy told Dale she wasn't voting but secretly voted for Trump

Bobby wanted to vote for Trump because he thought he was cool but Connie bullied him into voting for Hillary (presumably they'd be voting age by then)

I mean, the show was ALWAYS about hank trying to cope with and understand the new thing™ his old fashioned values clashed with.

This is the real issue, and it's one that happens to every show that tries to be topical since production times are so long.

real people who are like hank go off and live under a rock and are miserable every time they remember it's not 1998 anymore when they see whatever wretched new gay shit is on the rise.

I mean, yeah. If they can afford too. But that's not a very good message and people CAN change if they're willing.

I'm sure they had no problem going after whites who didn't comply though.

lmao
Bizarrely enough, blacks mostly masked. Probably for thievery. Whites, especially those of lesser education, as well as men, in general, did not.
That sucks and I've got nothing but empathy for your situation but you have to agree that if a blue city like Philadelphia didn't actually enforce anything, despite city council saying that it was now law, certainly Texas, /which never even promoted lockdowns, vaccines or masking in the first place/, didn't either.
That was my point.
As for working with a mask etc, yeah, that was recommended in Philadelphia but not generally enforced. Like I said, businesses that took it seriously mostly shut down because people wouldn't go. Center City, Philadelphia's downtown, is mostly dead now because of it. The riots, of course, didn't help. The few new stores that opened to replace the old ones are all corporate/chain places. There are a few exceptions, though. There was a sit down pizza place near our place that opened up an outdoor area but still wouldn't serve people who didn't have vax cards. They're actually still in business but many other places pulling that shit shut the fuck down.
I know and I agree with you but look: I work. She works. And neither of us have family nearby who could have watched him. I have a brother in one of the wealthier suburbs but it's not like he and his nutjob wife could've done it (and I wouldn't what her schizo ass to spend that much time with him unsupervised, anyway). It was a necessary evil, unfortunately, on days neither of us could WFH.

Yes 100% of rich people have horrible lives don't live like them anon. You don't need wealth anon
