¿Qué ha pasado con Disney XD?
It finally shut down?
XD

The network that killed Tron Uprising.
S to spit.
What was so funny
It's already starting, Youtube Channel rebranded as "Disney Channel Animation"
Jokes on you beacuse they are making a new TRON cartoon but this one being more comedy-driven
Main Disney Channel account with most subscribers changed to Disney Channel Animation
Very positive sign for future animation content
S
start off as Toon Disney, a place where Disney could dump their older shows so new ones can shine on the main channel
decide to copy CN and make an anime/action block called Jetix
over time, stop replaying most old shows for some reason, Jetix nearly takes over the channel
in recent times, start making LA content for the channel, further pushing old cartoons off the timeslots, rebrand Jetix as XD
now most new Disney cartoons get one season on the main channel before getting shoved to XD (or in the case of Penn Zero, never see the main channel at all)
you are now here
Oh poor baby, all you have now is two movies, soon to be three, several video games, two levels in Kingdom Hearts, theme park rides, and the entire series streaming on Disney+
I've never heard anyone talk about this show on here. Is it really that popular?
So are they rebranding the channel? This sounds like they're going back to Toon Disney, please let that be true.
Now is Xp
Only the lewds and not for the male characters >:(
Primosbros and StuGobros, we have chance?
Probably.
Primos
No
Disney XD, formerly the Fox Kids Network, Fox Kids and Jetix, was a British and Irish children's pay television channel that was operated in the UK and Ireland from 19 October 1996 to 30 September 2020.
Yanks didn't know about Disney XD? HAHAHAHAH I could not imagine myself as a Yankee, gorging on slop and shit and not getting fucking KINO
Aw sweet a schizo post
SMOKING ON THAT DISNEY XD PACK.
Who cares? It stopped being good as soon as it stopped being Jetix
The Disney XD (now Disney Channel) YouTube page uploaded a Yu Gi Oh video with XD imagery 4 days ago, so this had to be a very recent decision within the last few days
Disney XD is one of the lowest rated cable channels right now because far less kids watch cable and it's part of a deluxe cable package. Even Universal Kids got better ratings and that was shut down a few months back.
XD
It also got delisted from certain providers a few years back.
Just saying if it’s decided to shut it down it was not finalized and indicated to staff until earlier this week
You're right, Universal Kids had a few months warning at least.
There's no point to the channel anymore. It was conceived in 2009 to be Disney's boys channel while keeping regular Disney for girls. The goal was to give both channels equal footing in availability for cable packages. Now the way kids consume entertainment is vastly different than 16 years ago that cable might as well not exist to them since they can get whatever they want from Disney+ anytime. Disney did not see this coming despite evidence back in 2009 that's what the next generation was headed towards. Maybe their plans would've worked if launched in the 90s.

the previous official channel was changed to Disney Animation
while the XD channel will be the new main one and focus on LA content
So why not just make the XD channel the animation one?
Probably because the animation gets more views than "Have a Laugh" live action shit.
Their new live-action shows barely had attention
Disney saw it seriously as early as 2013 when they made a digital division and trying to sell Legend of the Three Caballeros to Netflix as an exclusive, then decided they are making their own service instead
Oh for sure, the highs of the mid/late 00s with Suite Life, Hannah, Raven, Wizards and Jonas are over. The 2010's onward tried to recapture that magic but kids from that time AND now just don't care. The only currently running LA show is Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, a sequel series. The only confirmed new LA shows coming are How We Became the Biggest Band in the World and Vampirina. Disney has clearly scaled back it's "kids/teens in stars" they had going with the older shows.
I hope
And nothing of value was lost

YugiohChads We won again
Does Disney even make live-action DCOMs anymore?
The 2010's onward tried to recapture that magic but kids from that time AND now just don't care.
not really true, a few shows from that time lasted a while, like Good luck Charlie, Jessie, or Liv and Maddie. Even Jessie's spin off lasted a long ass time.
Last time I watched, they made at least TWO iCarly ripoffs about kids having an internet show.
Yep, but production has slowed down significantly. The lasts one released were Zombies 3 and Under Wraps 2 back in 2022. 2025 is set to only have one movie (Zombies 4) and 2026 will have Descendants: Wicked Wonderland. Mind you, back in the day, they were able to make/release at least 3 to 5 movies in one year, and the year 2000 still holds the title for most LA DCOMs at 12 movies. It's clear that production costs have risen significantly, but it's also on Disney just not wanting to gamble on movies that will/might just be one shots.
Fair on Jessie and Bunk'd. But for Maddie lasting 3 years and Charlie lasting 4 (original runs, not re-runs), the impact compared to their earlier shows just doesn't show as well.
