If anything Gravity Falls is the opposite of coming of age. Dipper doesn’t grow at all. He wants to pursue a career? Shot down by Mabel and apologises for trying to make a future. He wants to be more confident with girls? Shot down by Candy and Wendy and apologises for trying to land a hot girl. He wants to be more mature/tougher/older? Everytime he is shot down and has to “learn” to give up on achieving anything or else he’s a bad person for trying to grow up. The whole show is the “tell Dipper everything he wants in life is toxic masculinity” special.

Aside from that the humor is terrible, constant adhd reddit quips, lolsorandumb *holds up spork* shit and stealing from futurama. The characters are bland and uninteresting. The setting is completely uninspired and just throwing shit at the wall, like 2 seperate plots about videogames that come to life. 3 if you count the pinball one.

Honestly, fandom-wise Amphibia and TOH are the ones standing with TOH being still decently active despite the shortening and lack of supplemental content which I find impressive.
Everything else feels forgotten as fuck.
