Basically, a scientist from a previous iteration of the universe escapes it after the universe dies - totally not Galactus.
He found out there was a finite source of emotional energy that 'lightsmiths' in his universe were drawing upon, and when it ran out everything died.
In the new universe he realized the Lanterns were fulfilling the same destructive role as the lightsmiths, and were draining the finite emotional reservoir again. So, as you do, he killed a bunch of them, destroyed Oa and the Green Central Battery, and tried to find a way around it.

Halfway through the story the emotional entities began possessing Kyle, and at the conclusion of the story Kyle, the entities and Relic all shove themselves into the Source Wall. The entities die and refill the reservoir, Kyle learns the Life Equation in the Source Wall and gets spat out.

Interestingly there's speculation later that Kyle could refill the reservoir on his own, but doesn't know how to and says it might not be possible without the entities.

Anyway this storyline got mostly forgotten and the emotional entity of love has shown up recently in the newest GL books as if nothing ever happened. The Lanterns at the end of the story said they weren't going to use their powers anymore but this also was forgotten.

Regardless, the fact that Kyle gains the Life Equation specifically BECAUSE he had to go into the Wall to refill the finite emotional reservoir in the first place, does mean this should be taken into consideration. Will DB actually do so, or will this be another 'Viltrumites saying they can't bust Viltrum is an outlier'? Who knows.
