Matt Braly's new comic is out today. Did anyone buy it?
Family Force V
Go Team Venture!
Bump. Also, a bit early to make this thread? We just woke up. Also, is it available at all stores or only a select few?
I remember that band
The cover doesn't say much.
What is this about?
Power Rangers, but make it Family <3
i'll read it if it gets storytimed
Apparently it's only available in comic shops right now (and Instock Trades and other such sites)
B&N and Amazon get it June 10th
Brown girl fighting kaijus with the power of family. It seems kinda meh but according to people who read it, the story has some loose ties to Amphibia
the story has some loose ties to Amphibia
Loose ties aesthetically I imagine
I might check it out, but I'm more interested in that movie he's making
Garbage made by a D*sney cultist
Shant
Kys
Disney lost mouseketeer
Its up on Kindle. Can anyone grab it and storytime it?
I think I watched a comedy anime with that plot.
Is it pronounced 'V' or 'Five'?
Who?
Matt Braly, creator of the Disney cartoon Amphibia. The series has done well for itself, but it definitely should've been more popular seeing as it starred one of the biggest child actors in Disney Channel history: youtube.com
I'm gonna go with Five. I'm also gonna go with the creator of this thinking he's super clever and subversive for doing something that was done to death decades ago.
Just gonna wait for a storytime. It looked ok.
Matt got upset everyone made lewds of his mom’s character so he made a hotter one
I doubt it'll work since people don't read anymore, but maybe he'll try a third time with his Sony movie
EVERYBODY'S FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE TO FEEL GOOD
Does no one else find it weird how there's a 2-week gap between the physical release and it being made available through online shops? Is that normal for comic releases?
its weird and it seems like people didn't even know this was happening until VERY recently
*a second time
Braly wasn't aiming for a hot mom when developing Mrs. Boonchuy. Bro really thought he'd introduced the most offensive design possible only for it to backfire as soon as we saw those feet
What if we prioritized the most boring mundane normie aspects of a henshin hero ip and ignored all the shit people actually like?
*most inoffensive
Which Super Sentai already did 25 years ago with Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive
knowing matt this is literally the blue print
Is this man or feman
Probably they are trying to incentivize physical sales and/or avoid spoilers from digital piracy.
I will die on the hill that piracy is better for sales. Why would you buy something to roll the dice on whether or not you even like it? The point of physical copies is rereading a story and when you already know first hand you can make an informed decision.
They have like a 30 page preview up for free, that's your sample of it.
30 page preview up for free,
Checked it out. It's a turd
Mama is JACKED
I already got that feeling too. But you can't complain piracy's better for sales when publishers usually give a long enough free preview for anyone to tell if the book will be worth the purchase.

What Good Kid song is this?
Oh. I don't watch cartoons.
I hope Braly has enough dignity to give Amphibia a concrete ending and not keep stringing along more additions after Strange Voyage. IT'S OKAY TO CLOSE THE BOOK ON A CAST OF CHARACTERS. THEY'LL LIVE ON IN FAN ART
dont know but it's a banger
I knew that title sounded familiar. Fuck you for reminding me of this
The third gender: Braly's self-insert
I bought it. I had no idea the writer was the creator(?) of Amphibia. I just saw Sentai influence and the preview didn't seem bad. I haven't read it yet.
What's the Japanese characters to the sides say? I can't read
Can you post it here?
Please don't post it here.
For comics though?
I've never seen a comic that actually owes its success to piracy.
Readers yeah sure but those readers don't necessarily translate to sales.
The system is fucked (especially for direct market titles) and online popularity != sales numbers.
If that was case, IDW's Sonic comics would be selling far more than they actually do especially in comparison to comics less talked about online.
