cancelled after only 1 season
Cancelled after only 1 season
Sad, but ultimately a better fate than running for too long and ruining your legacy.
Wasn't there a conspiracy over the rights?
The sword showed up in Chibiverse
Would a live action reboot work for Dave??
No, but I wouldn't be surprised if they tried anyway.
will forever be remembered for getting 1/2 of Metallica to cameo
I remember it at least got an ending right? I know this show was episodic but didnt it end with the parents coming back and some shennanigans involving that
I'll gladly sacrifice a loved one if it means a chance to revive the series, as long as Danny Cooksey comes back then so be it.
are there any other pre-roman Britain kinos like this?
i really enjoyed this show, i never understood why it didn't become popular at all.
i wasn't even able to watch it that much because for some reason it was only aired at 2-4 in the morning but everytime i catched it, it never failed to make me laugh.
Love this monkey.
it's a cult classic on spanish countries for some reason
does this show have other jokes other than this one ? It's the only one it gets ever posted
it was only aired at 2-4
Yeah I never got that either. It just screamed Disney wanted it to die for whatever reason. I think I remember Brandy And Mr. Whiskers having a similar treatment but that managed to last a bit longer.
She got the same treatment, what a buzzkill
So what. What's the big deal here?
Sure. Fafnir and Chuckles might just not look as good as CGI.
I remember hearing that the show actually got great ratings and first, but Disney was already shifting gears towards live action, so they started to air it in death slots as an excuse to kill it off. They didn't even properly cancel it by the way, they just didn't order new episodes.
Sad!
I think the first episode has a magic rock joke, that was funny.
(Too much trouble to prepare a webm.)
The episode where the villain kidnaps the narrator so he can narrate only the villain winning so the heroes spend the episode hiring a new narrator to fight the villain has to be one of the best episodes.
Disney was already shifting gears towards live action
Ah, there it is. Yeah I remember there was a reason why I stopped watching Disney Channel for a long while around that time. That would do it and explain their weird choices regarding these shows.
With the tone of the original show, it'd be much better to go with puppets, although obviously the committee wouldn't care about that and force CG anyways (while restricting their appearances in order to save money).
Do we know the uncle was the dad's brother or the mom's brother also which parent married into the monarchy of which one was born in it?
Pretty much, and as much of a Disney Channel watcher I was, it was weird seeing it happen in real time. Like yeah, Disney HAD live action shows at the time like Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire, but then stuff like Suite Life and the boon of Highschool Musical and Cheeta Girls, Disney wanted to make bank on their child/teen actors, getting them into various little events and having them host stuff. They out Nick'd Nickelodeon, who in turn (with Dan Schneider) ALSO began pumping out more LA shows. Disney is just more egregious because they clearly did not give a shit about their animated shows, giving them one season on the main channel before booting them to really early morning timeslots or just chucking them to Toon Disney (later renamed XD).
Completely shit show. I hated this as a kid with how they cut Dave into everything yelling “bajabber” or whatever.
Has never been funny
Highschool Musical
Yeah this really felt like it took over the network at some point. It and The Suite Life. Like Disney decided they would be this and nothing else and invested all in on their live action shows. Like some weird radical rebranding that during no cartoon could survive. There was that Hanna Montana show too around then if I remember the timeline right. I don't know if those shows actually did well or if it was just Disney wanting to rebrand but they sure as hell took a long time to move back into animation after that.
one of the only hypermuscle episodes in a mainstream cartoon
and that's how i was ruined forever
LA shows killed animated shows on the main channel, unless your name was Kim Possible or Lilo & Stitch. Proud Family surprisingly got big, but shows like Brandy & Mr. Whiskers and The Buzz on Maggie got one season tops (along with Dave), while Lyoyd and Fillmore didn't even get a chance on the main channel. You couldn't escape Disney's LAs actors, they were everywhere, on the website, in Disney magazines and of course they were the most prominent ones with that Disney wand thing.
Why was Estelle Costanza the voice of his sword?
There is a magical unicorn that talks like Christopher Walken and has some seriously dark issues.
Why not?
extremely based episode
I thought the show was pretty good, but my little brother LOVED it. He cracked right the fuck up whenever it was on.
I think Proud Family was allowed to exist because it had a similar target audience to the live action shows. It skewed quite a bit older than Brandy and Mr Whiskers.
I want to see a Candy vs Ursula fight

tfw liked that episode for the braindrain/cavegirl TF but hated the muscle aspect.
Dave the Barbarian
Brandy & Mr. Whiskers
American Dragon: Jake Long
The Buzz on Maggie
The Replacements
All the original Disney Channel cartoons that premiered between Kim Possible and Phineas & Ferb
FUCK OFF SHARKFAG
How do you like your cavegirls? Some meat is needed minimum.
Chunky for sure and if they're bigger then all the better hair on head getting longer/wilder plus hair underarms and crotch becoming bushes. More breeding obsessed too.
There are but they're not quite compact enough to end up in screencaps
