Another survival confirmed!

Those heathen waterwomen remain completely dismissive of mankind’s most sacred religious practises. Sad, honestly.

I really enjoy drawing all the fancy pymaric food with its neon colours. Would you eat the blue rolls stuffed with crab, the slices of carved blue mutton, and a salad of lime green cucumbers, magenta spinach, and grey pig cheese?
This is only for the nobles though. You'll see the spread being fed to the crowd outside is much more humble. Some are just a bit more equal than others in Cresce :)
I could have sworn we saw homoman get blown apart.
You'd think just barely surviving a supernatural turboclusterfuck by the skin of your teeth at least partially due to your own scheming would just maybe give some pause on your bullshit archaic religious practices for five like minutes
Not these Crescians. They came out of it with an even bigger hard-on for some child murder.
Seeing as Blue-hair is already dead, they must have moved another Litryia girl up the schedule to replace her. I wonder if it's the pagent director?
I HATE CREASE
I HATE CREASE
I HATE CREASE
yeah but Yerta saved them so she needs her sacrifice now
twin sacrifice is missing again
BAD OMEN!
Don't worry, Ufal: anything's possible when the author is on her side.
If anything a tragedy usually causes people to double down on that kind of thing
T's but a flesh wound, anon. CRESCIA STRONK!
Sonorie is re-doing Tirnasday, but my theory is that it's part of some deeper quick plans than just hanging soldiers and sacrificing a twin.
that dude is about to Vatel himself unless they cancell twin sacrifice or replace it with a bread and candy equivalent.
I actually think Sonorie's going to use this chance, and perhaps even engineered it (another waterwoman storm? really?) in order to push for something that's been percolating for awhile: the end of twin sacrifices. It's already been heavily sanitized and ritualized. We're far from the days of Sette being violently torn apart while alive and consumed raw. Twins are drugged into sleep, then their flesh rendered into nice looking little treats.
Cope's mentioned that Cresce has been heading to this for awhile, so I'm wondering if that's going to be pushed for here. As a symbolic capstone to Sonorie's argument with Ruck.
She's killing 126 plebs today because she's too pussy to kill even a single one of the actual plotters. Why on earth would you think Queen Stalin-but-a-pussy is going to end twin sacrifice.
Sonorie's argument with Ruck
Ruck would be laughing his snake-ass off at all those hangings.
Because it's literally what her argument was about: the removal of the blood and guts that Ruck thinks is integral to humanity. The hanging of the soldiers is explicitly called out here to: the effect it's having on the nobles is to make them all super nervous when the hammer is coming down. She can also just kill the soldiers without needing to plan much, the nobles require a defter plan.
She's got the entire country by the balls here, is the important part. She wants to end twin sacrifice, I'm not arguing that she's some moral paragon.
126 people, anon. And remember, she basically engineered Bell's rebellion herself.
Ruck would love it. She's the epitome of his point.
What are you, Batman? She didn't make those people become traitors. She enabled a traitor that they all willingly got behind. You don't leave enemies of the state alive just because "if you kill them you become like them".
twin only arrives in the city hours before the sacrifice
It's a wonder everything looks so neat if this is regular Crescian planning. Good to see the comic acknowledge how everything magically fell into place for Sonorie, and the risks this poses. Ufal has a good head on his shoulders.
I can see her doing it, but it would be a sign that Ufal's fears are correct. Using her new power to immediately push through something she thinks is best, but the rest of the country doesn't want is the sign of a new Sun King. Or Queen.
Ruck could really never be wrong about her. Just the fact that he was there to have that talk with her already proves his point. If you're having regular conversations with the literal monster you've hired to literally eat a man's soul, you're not the good guy.
Sounds like you're trying to convince yourself, not me.
She enabled a traitor that they all willingly got behind.
Take for example police pedo strings. If you aren't looking to shag a 13 year old, you exit the chat. No royalist joined Bell.
Looking forward to the permanent Sonorie spergout from now on.
Furthermore, Alderode must be destroyed.
I'll raise you this, and you cannot refute.
Spiderpaws were a mistake.
The cope when you see what the queen and science bitch have been doing to Duane and Sette since the end of the battle is going to be next level.
I'm also excited to see her kindly building Duane his new mech suit.
It's ok, she probably won't feature as heavily in book 2, if at all. It'll only crop up sometimes.
Ufal and hubby survived. Ashley is merciful for once.
Of course the book 2 Lemon seething is also on the horizon.
Lemonhate doesn't hit the same after you realize another day of being Lemon is its own punishment.
It was fun to hate him when we thought he was nefariously competent. Now that we know he's just special needs sweet child who believed he was gonna 1v1 god, it's like picking on the disabled kid.
I can think he's retarded and still dislike him
I just hope sette and duane crash the event with khert magic and this change the twin’s fate once and for all, so theres at least ONE victory for some people there
That's mean.
If anything people were mad about him just being a fuckup.
That's just disappointment from having their extremely hate-able suave villain taken away (since what they imagined him to be didn't end lining up with what Cope had planned for him).
suave
Noone thought fucking lemon was suave.
Back in chapter 1, yeah, they did.
not old enough, they have to be 22 before they're sacrificed
There was a 22yo twin at Litrya who was going to the city to be sacrificed. A twin. One. She died. Tirna's Day is over. Every other twin who was due to be sacrificed in every other city already was. So... if Litryia shrine is sending another twin to Port Morbin-time to be sacrficed, its not the twin that was supposed to be sent. It's a younger one, or it's her surviving twin, or there's something else weird going on.
Ok, noone except mightily cringe 12yo girls who like floppy-haired homosexual manlets thought fucking lemon was suave.
there could very well be more twins that are 22 years old, or older, and able to be sacrificed. we just focused on the blue haired girls because it was their turn this year- it's likely a shrine as big as Litriya has another pair that's old enough
For the longest time it was assumed that Lem was the successful Adelier. The handsome war hero. That was back when he was contrasted against the shy bookish zombie Duane, who was assumed to be plain looking and only really good at pymary. It wasn't until much later that the situation turned out to be nearly completely reversed between the brothers.
That people even expected Lem to be on top of the conspiracy to kill Duane was very much a remnant of that time.
iirc the specific twin is chosen by a bunch of literal high priestesses tripping on softi until the gods tell them which twin to eat, chosen from a pool of twins that are above 22 years old. presumably there are still plenty of-age twins at litriya, they just didn't get their first pick.
yes, that's what i said, i said that there is likely another pair of twins at litriya that are old enough to be sacrificed
You never seen the aftermath of a crisis before anon? If anything hardship causes people to turn to religion even more.
she basically engineered Bell's rebellion herself
Maybe I'm misremembering but wasn't Ruck's manipulation according to his own initiative? And wasn't Bell already planning a coup before he got rapesnake venom'd?
