King of the Hill revival theme song dropped

Depressing. Why couldn't they just let it stay dead.

Hank and Peggy moved to Saudi Arabia

Kek

honestly relieved that they aged the characters up and didnt just have a rolling timeline

they still have a rolling timeline. bobby should be like 40 now

not changing his shirt in the logo animation like the OG

Cringe

I don't know why people are saying Hank looks older. He actually looks about the same. Also:

A pajeet moved in and they made him leave

Top kek.

With Hank and Peggy apparently spending some time in Saudi Arabia, my money is on Dark Hank's presence being explained as some kind of weird ass propane salesman exchange program.

fuck...Bill die from covid....

ming lives on in the opening...

Hank and Peggy honestly aged really well. Bobby looks good too.
The only thing I find questionable is Khan and Minh getting divorced since they had probably the healthiest love life outside of the Hills before.

Hills moved to Saudi Arabia

Boomhauer settled down

Kahn and Minh get divorced

Dale gets cucked permanently

Lucky and Luanne written out entirely

RIP Ladybird

it's about 300 posts of political shitflinging, 200 of actual discussion, and 100 posts of memes so you're fine

Bobby taking care of his uncle

awww

Redcorn still seeing Nancy

ewww

Honestly minh ans Khan divorcing just seems like it proves Khan's mom and Minh's dad right

Hank moves away

Kahn and Minh get divorced

I somehow feel like Kahn went off the rails once his only real friend left

k.png - 1080x810, 1.28M

Lucky and Luanne written out entirely

He's mentioned in the video description, he's in the leaked storyboards, and Kahn is living with him after his divorce, he's not dead. If I had to guess, he either embraced the "lockdown" since he's lonely already or he got super paranoid and refused to leave the house.

So hank becomes a rich baller oil man doing propane deals with KSA? Sounds kino af to me, he deserves the bag

if anything lockdown was a good excuse for him to never leave the house

t. depressed

They would have probably been in if not for both of their VAs dying irl. Chill.

It's gonna suck.

The only thing I find questionable is Khan and Minh getting divorced since they had probably the healthiest love life outside of the Hills before.

If you freeze the intro towards the beginning you see Minh walking Doggie with Kahn following after her angrily yelling and she looked pissed off.

The Hills move away

Everyone including Kahn gets increasingly unhinged without Hank's moderating influence

Minh gets sick of his shit and leaves

That's my guess anyways

sex with redneck minh

buck makes deal with saudis

hank is sent over to manage new branch of strickland

returns after buck retires/dies to manage arlen branch

Here at Strickland we don’t take shit from bitches.

Bobby looks the same but as an adult

I'm okay with this.

Trust me, You didn't miss anything.

hank ever being full manager at strickland

Buck will give it to Donna or something because she has tits

Kahn and Minh did not seem happy together at all. The only thing keeping them together was raising Kahn Jr.

fuck i need to watch those ytps again

Hank was probably made head of sales for the KSA branch. He will return to Arlen after several years and will struggle to cope with the wokeness he finds himself surrounded by.

Nah if anything it will either go to his son or Miss Liz and both with want to give it Hank. Buck Jr. because he’s got his hands full and Miss Liz because Hank has pretty much been there longer than anyone else and the man deserves it, Joe Jack will of course joke that he’s still her Debbie.

that and rebelling against minh's dad/making fun of others. doesn't sound like a foundation for a long-lasting marriage

This was actually pretty nice, same with DiDi and GH.

bros.png - 637x828, 893.7K

Isn't Arlen meant to be close to Dallas? If it were Austin or House I'd get it.

Animation looks like it's going to be that weird Flash animation they keep using for reboots.

black guy moves into the Hill house for a number of years

ends up disappearing just before the Hills come back to Arlen

Hopefully there's a good story behind that

Wokeness is everywhere now, even the original series featured plenty of proto-woke Arleners.

he's still in the house, watching them

He was renting the house temporarily, then vacated it when the Hills moved back from Saudi.

Oil is a bastard fluid.

He'll live in the walls.

Where is the Saudi Arabia thing coming from? I didn't see anything in the intro to indicate that, just that the Hills moved.

Yeah. What i wonder is, did they actually find a Laoitian American VA to play recasted Kahn or did they bitch out and cast a SEA voice actor who isn't even Laotian?

Literally in the video description on Youtube

It was less about missing any of the hoopla and more about being able to say I called Bobby's embiggening 13 years ago.

I like that Bobby co-owns his own restaurant and lives in Austin. That boy is finally doing right.

Also I'm guessing Buck probably died at some point and Strickland propane probably went tots up and that's why Hank agreed to move for a new propane job. Hanks autistic dedication to propane probably caught the attention of one of Strickland Propane's suppliers who recommended him for job

vulture.com/article/king-of-the-hill-reboot-revival-preview-interview-bobby-release-date.html

The correct term is arlenian.

Imo Buck probably offered Hank the overseas position because Hank is his best anr most knowledgeable salesman by far.

They got a Malaysian guy.

It depends on the episode, in some it's close to Dallas while in others close enough to the Mexican border that one could make a day trip there.

Hardwick died in August 2023; at the time, he had done some voice recording on the revival.

I wonder if they'll use AI to recreate his voice or come up with an excuse for a change in his voice, like all those cigarettes he smokes fucked him up

My assumption was that Hank didn't sell the house (he said he wanted Bobby to inherit it); he probably did the thing GIs do and just rented out the house for cheap to an older adult while deployed.

I'm calling cultural appropriation.

yeah, it's extremely retarded

You mean Arlenite

To be fair Dallas is like 600 miles away from the border.

we're delegating to some guy in Saudi Arabia

that guy is you

also we're giving your job and house to a guy coming here...from Saudi Arabia

>A pajeet moved in and they made him leave

what are you talking about?

Funniest explanation.

I bet they're going to kill him off

sees redcorn pick up nancy

notices everyone knows aside from dale and does nothing

prays for 48 hours straight for allah to strike down the betrayers and adulterers

places a fatwa on redcorn and nancy

dale loses his voice to cigs and becomes ned

I don't know, Buck's customer base never seemed big enough where he would need or fould afford an overseas branch in Saudi Arabia.

Plus Buck would never let Hank go like that. He was way too codependent on Hank to keep himself and his local businesses alive.

Dale eventually just stops appearing in episodes

With KoH back we might get some new ones.

he got too close to the truth.

Its not mentioned in that article but Toby Huss, Kahn's original voice actor, is taking over for Dale.

toby huss is voicing him now

Age of Robo Dale begins

ROBO DALE.jpg - 226x223, 8.67K

Thought that was Buddha Sack or Earl from Dale's gun club?

he'll still be there, he'll just be invisible

DARN YOU SHABBUUUUUUU!!!

Wow, I hate it. It feels like it would have made more sense (and tied into the show better) if Hank went to Canada or somewhere like that for a while instead. I can't imagine him ever willingly going to fucking Saudi Arabia for any length of time and I can especially not imagine Peggy doing that. Feels like it was chosen because of outside reasons i.e. Saudis tossing some money around. If they wanted to do the cultural freeze thing then it's not like Saudi Arabia doesn't have a lot of that shit too so it's even more pointless and reading the interview makes it sound like we really are going to get some "HANK GET IPAD" quality episodes. Having a black dude suddenly be the showrunner whose biggest claim to fame is the failed black Wonder Years reboot isn't inspiring confidence either.

They're going to have to explain that Chane changed a LOT in the intervening years considering what a giant asshole he was

He'll be busy posting about conspiracy theories of conspiracy theories in mainstream social media.

"Dang it Dale that doohickey of yours is busted, I can't understand a dang thing you're sayin'."

"Yeah man tell you h'what its like dang ol audio ain't right like y'all set it got your dang ol treble too high mids all jacked up y'all all twangy talk about dang ol robo brain sucker next to me man."

"You said it, Boomhauer."

Moving the hills to Saudi Arabia for a few years is actually a perfect explanation for Hank still being a likable lower "c" 90s conservative and not a modern insane schizophrenic conservative.

Permanently? Or, like how Cody Walker took over for Paul in Furious 7?

my guess is that chane will still be an asshole but he'll recognize bobby's skill, he'll be the buck to bobby's hank

oh it's you again.

Probably a mix of Buck and his dad. I imagine that Bobby won’t complain but will not be as much of a pushover/trooper as Kahn or Hank.

So the co-owner of Bobby's restaurant, Robata Chane, really is Chane Wassanasong

I wonder if he's mellowed out since then or of he's become Bobby's Buck Strickland. I lean toward him mellowing out since I don't think his ego back in middle school would have let him pet Booby Hill.own half his business

Also I'm curious about Joseph. The opening seems to imply he stayed in Arlen to help Dale with his election

Huss is no longer allowed to voice Kahn because of Disney's stupid 2020 policy of replacing all white voice actors voicing non-white characters. So giving him Dale makes sense as a way to keep him on the show.

Bobby is 21 years old and already has his own place and a stable job

I thought this show was supposed to be relatable?

... can Toby Huss even do a good Dale?

Peggy freely walking around Saudi Arabia while all the other women are covered up because everyone thinks she's a man because of her giant feet.

everyone who has an opinion that isn't mine is one person

Literally no one can "do a good Dale" that isn't the guy that just died. They'll probably explain that his throat got fucked up from lung cancer

anon i saw you in the other thread posting the exact same thing with the exact same wording, i know it's you.

They're going to have to explain that Chane changed a LOT in the intervening years considering what a giant asshole he was

Based on pic related (which was leaked from the wrap party), it sounds like he may be the owner of the restaurant where Bobby is chef

He received generational wealth.

Yeah, of course it's me, but I'm not everyone who disagreed with you about anything in the last thread

Robata Chane

So Chane's going to be his asshole boss/investor?

Depends if they get renewed. Johnny Hardwick died in the middle of production so they probably didn't have enough time to write his character out, most of season 1 was probably done by that point and season 2 was probably already starting.

So I guess if people like Toby Huss they'll just go forward with him. If not, well.Dale does smoke a lot.

wait its a robata restaurant?

...Bobby is using charcoal!?

Because bitch made guys like you didn't stop it

oh shit I didn't even make the connection, that's great

He's in his mid 20s and that boy still ain't right

Bill dying of COVID

Dale dying of cancer

this would sure make for a dark reboot

missed opportunity to call it PF Chane's

especially not imagine Peggy doing that.

Peggy would totally be on board

Co-owner
The vulture article mentions Bobby is the co-owner of the restaurant

I'm guessing Chane is just the money guy and Bobby is the one actually running the restaurant. Also Chane probably only agreed to invest in Bobby's restaurant if he named it after Chane. Classic douchebag Chane move.

hank eats charcoal cooked food without knowing

So will he enjoy it like Peggy and Bobby, immediately know and hate it, or sort of keep it ambiguous?

Peggy would be excited to experience a new culture but she'd have no idea what's actually happening in Saudi Arabia and would quickly find herself getting into shit because of her spirited, assertive nature.

Bill seems dumb enough to fall for the anti vaccine propaganda.

Yep. And since Hank's been out of the states for a while doing big propane deals in the middle east he probably doesn't know yet

Now i imagine a scene in which Bobby offers to make them food. Hank expects Bobby to grill him up a classic propane steak like he used to make; only to come out with more ethnic foods to his dissatisfaction

What's wrong with appreciating the rich, smoky flavor?

Shut up l*dditfag

Peggy looks older while Hank stayed the same

season long arc that pays off with a cook off season finale

Because we want you to watch as we ruin everything you love.

Bill would totally be that guy who just absorbs all the propaganda and information he sees on social media without filtering or using critical thought to determine what's accurate and what isn't. I can also totally see him falling for a girl who turns out to be a MAGA and going along with it just to get his dick wet.

i.e. Saudis tossing some money around.

It's definitely that, they offered him so much money that, along with browbeating from Peggy about having a comfortable retirement, he just couldn't refuse. Probably only agreed on the condition that it was for a set amount of time and then he would come back to Arlen.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWW

Hank's gone grey. Also, he already had wrinkles on his face so there wasn't much more they could do there. You could argue he had already aged faster and Peggy just caught up with him.

appreciating the rich, smoky flavor?

It’s dirty unluck propane tasting the meats pure flavor

I can see Hank leaving America having something to do with its current political state.

Will the black guy be an important character, I wonder, or is it just a gag about them getting a new Hank?

Flash

2025

lol.
But yeah it does look insanely odd. Everyone's too cheap for traditional + digipaint so they probably hired the same studio that did F is For Family to make this shit

i'd almost rather see a spinoff about the hills living in saudi arabia even if there's a 0% chance of it being good

Worst case scenario: Ray Roy owns Strickland now

Hank learns about Trump

Is more concerned we had a president from New York than anything else

MILF Donna

I am okay with this development

they already said they aren't doing that.

I can't see them actually touching upon Trump in any significant way. At most, Mayor Dale will be some off-handed Trump commentary.

I'm guessing Buck probably made a huge deal with the Saudis but had no real knowledge of what he was doing so he offered Hank as a peace offering because he probably lost the millions they gave him and could not pay it back.

Peggy, the president...ugh...TANS himself...

we never see him move out

he's gonna live with the Hills

He did say he missed voting for Reagan, a Californian

"I leave the country for a few years and we elect a new york real estate man as our REPUBLICAN president?"

"ya but you are from New York too Hank.."

"..shut up bill."

Apparently US oil companies operating in the Saudi Arabia have set up bases where they build American style suburbs for all their employees to live in. One of the articles mentions that the one Hank and Peggy lived in was an " idealized kind of white-picket-fence America".

vice.com/en/article/the-american-suburb-in-the-middle-of-the-saudi-desert/

The time-line was floating for a while in the original show, by the time it ended Bobby would have been an young adult if time passed normally: the revival now just aged everyone a little over a decade.

Nancy with John Redcorn

legitimately awful. A lot was funny/great, this is legitimately awful.

Wanting to taste the heat

CAN I BORROW SOME GAS?

Bill is killed off because Stephan Root was busy with GTA VI

Now's the time for Kahn to gain 100lbs and go bald

Will it be shit or extra woke?

John Jed Jorn?

I'm guessing/hoping this is a misdirect

maybe they are coworkers at the station now or something and carpool? Or maybe John Redcorn does some bonding stuff with Joseph and Nancy, and they tell Dale Joseph inherited her headaches

Kek

Connie is non-binary and John Redcorn is now Jane Redcorn

Connie got fat

Grim.

20 DOLLARS. EACH.

I wouldn't mind that, I do hope they keep the running joke of Joseph thinking he's white. I was the watching the black comedy episode yesterday

Connie, you're lucky, you're Asian and can get in touch with your roots. Joseph and I are just a couple of boring white guys.

The joke will be that they're too preoccupied with Mayor Dale to ever actually acknowledge the wider political state of the United States.

What the fuck are you talking about? That's fucking based

Bobby knocked her up

She looks normal in the scene where everyone catches her and Bobby in bed together

Imagine Peggy declares herself non-binary and we get a "IT'S MA'AM" moment at the Megalomart.

that is significantly less funny than Hank coming to appreciate Arabic culture and becoming the weirdo trying to introduce his friends/Arlen to weird foreign food

I genuinely doubt the revival will be any good but I for one hope it gains enough interest for there to be an influx of (fappable) Peggy rule34. There's not enough of it for sickos like me as it stands (please no incest though I'm not that much of a sicko).
Kahn moving in with Bill sounds funny though in my opinion.

it looks like the gun club guy

Ah, I was wondering if the Saudi Arabia thing was based on a real life event.

Peggy r34

That is a difficult fucking torch to burn, anon. Good luck to you.

The black guy? Earl? The gay guy? Earl?

Think Joseph will be a playboy like Redcorn or Boomhaur, or will he have peaked in high school and now has as much luck with chicks as Bill?

RIP electricity pole

Going by his design in the opening I either think he's a drop-out or a mechanic.

he'll be a normal guy in a stable long-term relationship but he's scared of proposing

Bobby is 18 and going to college and still shorter than peggy

I hate this stupid fucking meme so much. At 18 , I was 5"10 and taller than m 5"7 mom. I'm tired of them absolutely needing to show that the child must absolutely be shorter than the parent

they should have been killed offscreen in a hilariously tragic way, so the hills can raise Gracie and finally get their second chance at a kid

he clearly just hit his growth spurt late, he's about as tall as Hank when they move back

that is significantly less funny than Hank coming to appreciate Arabic culture and becoming the weirdo trying to introduce his friends/Arlen to weird foreign food

I mean, it's not a fish-out-of-water story, everything seems to hint that the season starts with him coming back, so there will probably only be a few flashbacks. Honestly I think it's just as funny that he goes somewhere so weird to him only to live somewhere that's basically Rainey St plopped in the Middle East.

and still shorter than peggy

Huh? In the intro Bobby is clearly taller than his mother now, he only isn't taller than Hank.

IDK why everyone kept trying to come up with complicated ways to explain their absence when you can just say they moved somewhere else.

Will Bobby still be a goofy little guy or will the stressors of adult life have changed him?

Wait... so did they find someone to replace Dale's voice actor?

Where? She looks fine in the intro and the leaks she's normal too

toby huss

Since he co-owns the restaurant, he will probably try and be a "cool" boss, but will have to learn when to put his foot down with his workers or certain customers.

I just meant it would be a funny plot development where Hank tries to get Dale to eat hummus, not that I thought the show would be about Hank and Peggy in Saudi Arabia

It's also a great wake up call for Hank to get back to the U.S. and see how much has changed for the worst.

Kahn's original voice is confirmed to have taken over, now that racial segregation among voice actors is a thing so he can't keep voicing Kahn anymore.

Do we know if Pam Adlon is still voicing Bobby Japanese Goku style?

Hank was so upset over it he moved to Saudi Arabia for a year

From the sounds of the previews, he moved there for way longer than a year. It seems like he basically spent the entire timegap there.

Yes. In the article, they actually debated if Bobby should sound deeper or not. His older voice isn't too far off from his regular kid voice.

it's such a simple joke, but it works

Guess we won't see Hank giving Bobby his first Alamo beer legally

Looks like he became a townie and worked for his dad's campaign. I wonder if he and Bobby's relationship is gonna be strained, I could see Joseph being resentful of Bobby's success and feeling like he abandoned him and replaced him with Chane

Adult Joseph.jpg - 1920x1079, 913.66K

She's becoming the prettiest girl in Ohio

Did Hank and Peggy move out of Saudi Arabia before or after the Dragon Ball theme park?

Yeah this stuck out to me as well. Legitimately kills any hype I could have had if they aren't just misdirecting.

I like to see Bobby happy. He looks good and healthy. We know his life could have taken dark paths.

his entire career is specifically dedicated to cooking with charcoal, that's the darkest path it could've possibly taken

I wonder at what point he gave up on comedy and settled into being a chef

New York huh....well I guess we've survived Democrats before....

Hank he's a Republican

HWAT!?

Saudi Arabia has bunch of gas and oil, Buck Strickland probably made some deals with the Saudis and sent propane expert Hank Hill to oversee new propane infrastructure, Hank likely lived in those worker towns for westerners.

Yeah but California was a solid red state until semi-recently.

We all just assume Dale is the one that ran. Could easily be Mayor Joseph.

It's implied he does both at the restaurant
He's one of those performance chefs

The animation quality is terrible. Hank isn't even moving for most of those, he's just standing still like a T-posing video-game character.

it could also be nancy

Hot

You need to rewatch the part where he threw away the garbage bag in the original intro again

Wondering if Dale won the mayor election or not. Would sync up with crazy people who were once against all politics suddenly getting into politics.

I'm interested on seeing which of the supporting/minor characters come back. It won't be the same without Joe Jack, Dooley and EMLAY. Shame Moss won't be around since his VA is dead and his performance was a big part of why he was so good.

Joseph doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who gives a shit about "success" by any traditional metrics. He's Dale Gribble's kid, after all. He's probably just happy being a goofy dumbass with his dad and a recently returned Bobby.

probably not, otherwise would Dale even have time to hang out with Hank and the gang if he's busy being the mayor?

EMLAY

Emlee's a freebie - just make her the local sheriff or an overzealous beat/traffic cop.

I grew up

That would probably make more sense, springboarding from local TV personality to local political figure. Although I would think that it would be Hicks-Gribble on the sign and not just Gribble.

why arlen so foggy?

Wasn't "Hank moved to Saudi Arabia" something that Mike Judge said ages ago? I seem to remember hearing about that long before the revival became a thing.

I'm a lawyer.

Dale's election sign stays out for a long time in front Hank's house until Hank moves back and throws it out. I'm guessing that implies Dale lost. He's probably gonna dedicate all his conspiracy energy on trying to prove the election was stolen and he's the real Mayor. Starts his own Qanon but blames aliens instead of jews.

it actually was rigged

Redcorn helped

Dale saw him do it but assumed he was helping with election security

Yeah, youre right. But he does care about Bobby, he would feel hurt if he felt his best friend ditched him and replaced him.

There's going to be a Persona 4-style murder mystery plot when Hank returns to Arlen.

All these years later and Joseph still can't grow a moustache. Poor guy.

Yeah that'd be good. Do it YTP style, with weird Arab prayers over the intro.

I can see Joseph working a blue collar job with Dale or John Redcorn where he's not exactly top of the totem pole but he makes decent money and is content because he gets to do weird/gross stuff.

Given how Arlen is, the mayor is probably kind of a do nothing position. I mean Fred Ebberd works ina movie theater despite being a city councilman.

The pictures of Bobby's apartment in Dallas have some X-files-looking posters so I'm assuming he and Joseph are flatmates until proven otherwise.

NEW YORK CITY!?

Peggy drops random mangled Arabic into conversation

Hank speaks it fluently

He didn't move until after Bobby went to college

Honestly that would be pretty funny, and Hank actively tries to help him show everyone the truth despite protest but his need for fairness can’t allow for it to go unnoticed. The episode ends with Dale becoming mayor.

Hank learns Bobby prefers IPAs/spiked seltzers

Is Bobby slowly morphing into Guy Fieri?

why did angstrom levy move in

Got sick of fucking with Mark and Steve and decided to find some peace.

Must be the indian genes. You never see a native american with facial hair.

A lot of places were solidly Republican but not conservative (or, to be less euphemistic, racist). If you know any black people whose families have been here for a few generations, you'll find out that most of them were Republicans until JFK and Nixon.
If by "red" you mean "conservative" and not "GOP", California was more, "There's no one alive who could comprehend my political preference."

You mean alien genes right?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this.

Bobby took a ride to flavortown and never returned

In the original. You can see his muscles twitch and his arm moving. In this remake, when he's holding the sign, it's like a Flash animation with his arms just sliding around.

you lost btw :3

It was a couple factors. Reagan and his amnesty, Prop 187 getting shot down. One of the reasons why Davis was recalled was because his failure on Prop 187. Black Nigger was a RINO and didn't overrule it and had it swept under the rug as well.

Jesus fucking christ, I wish Anon Babble tards would fuck off already

based

Dale buying into the COVID scare

No way.

Pretty much , seems like bill probably became more recluse once Hank left since he just leaves half way through the intro but I know he’s in the series

He's literally the only one not wearing the mask correctly

What probably happened was this.

Dale sees the footage out of China of people dropping dead in the streets and the rumors of mass cremations

Goes full lock down in January of 2020

Everyone calls him crazy

May of 2020 he realizes there is no mass die off in the US

Sees all the lock down measures as government power grab

Leaves quarantine

Everyone calls him crazy

He is later vindicated.

extremely based you mean

This is what worries me the most about the reboot - quality-wise I think it's probably going to be good, but we'll never be able to have a fucking thread about it without people coming out of the woodwork to argue over who Hank voted for or what Boomhauer's opinions are on unrealized capital gains taxes.

Man d'you know 's like dat dang ol' talkin' bout' dem underutilized dang ol' securities man.

I dont think he'd even chin diaper.

Wasn't Arlen governed by a City Council? Either they changed to electing a mayor or the City Council just created the position to give the illusion of a sharing power.

The fact he has a mask at all and social distances is too much.

dale was social distancing before covid

What? They're obviously going to throw jabs at Trump wtf are you on about?

maga.jpg - 1280x720, 103.58K

Most American cities, to the best of my knowledge, have both, with a mayor filling a sort of executive position and the city council acting as the legislature.

that's... actually a really good point

Think again, its old desperate hag. She's going to clearly be traumatized by how far she's been left behind culturally online.

the fact they made the joke at all feels nuManiacsian

I really hope they're fucking with us when it comes to Nancy and Redcorn. Her calling it off and them re-igniting their marriage is genuinely one of the better story lines.

Minh and Kahn divorcing pisses me off too as they were a perfectly matched couple.

Dale would 100% go for a "loophole" as a fuck you to a government over just not obeying at all.

Boomhauer settles with that French Canadian chick from before

Imagine Bill trying to communicate with her Quebecoise using Cajun

I was with a friend and he was going to show me something on youtube, and I caught this on his main page and immediately felt dread. I knew about everything including leaks up to the poster, and immediately had to see this. Couldn't believe it randomly fucking dropped while I was actually out doing social life shit once in a blue moon but we watched it together despite him not fully knowing KoTH (he wasn't sure about Redcorn's role in the series but knew him by name, etc.)

We both agreed it was creative to use the structure of the theme but doing the extended timelapse. Also laughing about the random fucking black guy and my friend pointed out how no one wanted to hang out with him.

Gloating about my social life aside I also noticed Nancy back with Redcorn, that's really depressing if that's what happened. They dedicated a whole damn arc to trying (and somewhat failing) to redeem her, if she relapsed that's just making this whole thing more miserable than everything else already feels. Not that it really changed my opinion about her when she re-commited to Dale and they staged a remarriage, since what she did for so long was unforgiveably horrible and throughout the episode tried to make you sympathize with her going back and forth on a whim, but fuck man even the half-assed redemption might be for nothing now.

Anyway animation looks cheap like expected. You can tell they're trying but you can already sense it from some head turn at the end and the obviously flash trash bag carrying bit. I'm rambling and no one gives a fuck but damn Ioved this show and this all feels miserable.

That was a good development but as I recall they reverted back to the cheating in a later season after Fox pushed for a status quo so they could show episodes out of order. It was a stupid episode too with the explanation being something like Nancy is genetically predisposed to hair loss if she doesn't cheat.

Had to rewatch it already, it's Hank's animation at the start actually that mainly clues you in other than the trash bag cheat (since nothing particularly needed to be fully animated for the bobbing motion, they cheaped it)

Also what's with the fucking eyebrows

I hope the revival inspires more good porn of characters like Minh and Donna. Imagine it, MILF Donna

milf donna.png - 1080x810, 563.52K

Wait I take this back. I tracked down that episode and in the end Nancy decides to accept her hair loss instead of cheating.

Yep, she gets tempted but decides that her love for him is worth more than her beauty. That and the cigarette lawsuit one are both great episodes which is why I'd be so bummed if it does show that she cheated again.

I think that part is just an "previously on..."
Also, khan and Ming can always get back together.

That's kinda the joke.
I can see Dale going full panicky over Covid and Hank being the one who realised it's a nothingburger.

Minh and Kahn got divorced

How many times did she give Joseph the Laotion motion over the years since?

It'd be pretty funny if the Kahn/Minh thing is basically them reconciling meaning that 99% of the separation only happened during the timeskip. Would actually be a pretty clever twist on the whole "status quo changed for an episode and reverts back at the end" thing that shows like this like to do.

They can't, they're brony-tier autists who have to insert themselves and their unwanted opinions into everything.

I tell you I hate Nancy

Well the upshot is the man's dead.

its a beautiful day

SUNDAY!

I've been watching the series for the first time since I heard of the reboot and have reached S11 at this point. So far, nothing amazing but its overall consistent in quality.

My only issue is that Peggy has gotten, how do I say this, dumber as time gone on? And the show rarely punished her for it. A little annoying but whatever. They've also done a number of episodes where they just sorta end and never really resolve the big issue that got them into the mess in the first place.

Also, what is the point of this Lucky character? I feel like Luanne used to have decent arcs but they just moved her out and stopped caring about her education.

I'm fairly confident that'll be the case, purely because Kahn rooming with Bill doesn't seem very sustainable. But I could see it lasting for a season.

Hank Hill's a nigger.

I WAS LISTENIN

It's true. I'm a demiqueer and one of the guys I dated was native. Couldn't grow facial hair for shit. No body hair at all, actually. His Gen Z nephew had some pop hit a few years ago, so that's neat, but he looks just as hairless as his uncle does.

Hopefully they don't turn GH and Gracie into gen z caricatures

and Saturday

My only issue is that Peggy has gotten, how do I say this, dumber as time gone on?

personally I blame the sky diving accident, probably gave her brain damage

Honestly, that's what I've been telling myself. I'm not going to say it's one of those shitty "Everything after X went wackier because the character actually went into a coma" theory but...

I feel like the only person on this planet who genuienly liked Donna pre-MySpace episodes and didn't like her in that episode, and saw through how that episode was a blatant symptom of just transforming her into their usual awfully written exaggerated antagonists. But because that was her only spotlight episode that's the only personality people really have to associate her with, on top of it being where her fanservice shots come from so now I just wish people remembered her being more kind before. She seemed tender, not fucking psychotic.

Yes, I am the guy who's said this a hundred times before because I've never seen anyone else do so, so there's very little chance you're confusing me with someone else. I just liked actual Donna, not "seasonal rot, need annoyingly written antagonist" Donna.

But yes for that episode, the fanservice of her dancing looked very nice and when she propped her arms under her boobs in that one shot too. Can't imagine anything like that in the revival seasons. Not just "shit animation" but if they'll even consider finding ways to do casual fanservice. There was a surprising amount throughout KoTH, not just the main moments either.

This pisses me off. Near the end of the show John Redcorn and Nancy actually had a lot of development in regards to their affair. They both moved on. And now, they go back to cheating on Dale again? Does the King of the Hill creator have a cuck fetish and finds it funny to keep cuckolding Dale?

What if Dale and Nancy split up. It would be really interesting if they did, making John Redcorn think he can reveal he's always been Joseph's father only for Joseph to still not care and want to be with Dale

redcorn and the gribbles had a lot of development throughout the series with redcorn not just accepting that its over between him and nancy, but also that joseph is dale's son. redcorn even learns to respect dale and see him as a true friend
then the latter seasons sorta forgot that. sure dale became redcorn's band manager, but then he's willing to cheat with nancy on a moment's notice. forgetting everything that happened
hell they pretty much just retconned that he loved nancy and there isn't much reason for him to be possessive of joseph because he had another bastard

Complex/selfish characters are difficult to write and still have them be likable. You often see them go from outright narcissistic to "dumb and somewhat ego-driven because they're dumb, but otherwise well-meaning". See also: Johnny Bravo, Kuzco in The Emperor's New School.

You expect Hank to be more permanently tanned if he lived in Saudi Arabia

I think Lucky is in there as a true redneck representation. I suspect he was also a bit of a pushback by Judge over some of the other writers introducing a bit too much "small town life is backwards, they should all be college educated liberals as that's better!". Lucky is also there to give Luanne more ties to the main cast as they were running out of storylines for her (didn't want her to be a slutty bimbo but education and high end hair dressing wasn't something that suited her).

He lives in Texas and likes spending time outdoors. He's as tanned as he's ever going to be.

post more Donna

inb4 it's a subversion and they're actually just colleagues at the news station or something now.

Will adult Bobby get revealed to be a Buddhist because wasn't Bobby revealed to be a reincarnation of a lama in a past episode?

Peggy is as stupid as she needs to be for an episode to work. Lupe's Revenge is a funny episode but it really only happens because Peggy's stupidity is cranked up to a cartoonish degree, way higher than it had ever otherwise been. The switch to digital animation (season 8) pretty much coincides with the characters beginning to get a lot more flanderized and less attention being paid to backstories i.e. the retcons for Peggy's and Luanne's (I hope the new season just ignores those episodes).

I like Lucky just fine. I think he's a pretty cool guy, generally funny and Tom Petty does a really god job voicing him. I can't stand the people who say that Luanne marrying him is some kind of "step back" because you can argue that a lot of her attempts at doing things (community college, going to beauty school, etc.) were things she was forcing herself to do because she thought she needed to do it to not end up like her mother and/or because Hank and Peggy were pushing her. But she marries Lucky, she winds up having a stable career she's happy with as a barber, she has a family and she owns a nice house. She finishes the series in a very good place. I think a lot of the hate and bitching is really people upset that Lucky is kind of a bum (even though he tries to better himself for Luanne) and, more importantly that he's older and ugly. Because a lot of guys watching thought Luanne was hot and probably wanted someone younge and more normal they could self-insert into so that when he's fucking Luanne, they are too. They can't self-insert as Lucky.

Every episode with Lucky was like watching fat bastard NTR hentai.

what if Boomhauler get IFONE

Yep

Yep

Mhm

Shiiieeeeet

You can definitely make a case that a lot of her actions are born from trauma over nearly dying. She does seem to get a lot more arrogant afterwards and it's easy to see it as her doing it as a cope so she doesn't have to actually address any lingering PTSD. After all, if Peggy could survive falling from a plane what can't she do?

I feel like Lucky was an attempt to turn the audience into Peggy. Becoming convinced they know what's best for her rather than paying attention to what actually makes her happy. With a full education she'd end up stuck in a job that isn't what she really wants and makes her just feel inadequate the whole time.

One of the things I hope they do is some flashback episodes. It's kind of annoying that, say, all of Bobby's high school and college time is going to be skipped over when there's a lot of stuff to be mined for it.

Arlenite

file.png - 637x476, 323.72K

This feels like a red herring.

It doesn't look shit. Slightly optimistic.

It wouldn't surprise me if they had an episode where an annoying Philthy phaggot moved into the neighborhood and bullied Bill because he was wearing a Dak prescott jersey

Maybe they'll develop his children's entertainment career and he now runs a not so subtle parody of Blippi

I wonder if every episode will be sequential, of if we'll get a Saudi episode, an episode about the black guy, an episode about Bobby and Connie doing the deed, an episode about Nancy's temptation to get back with Johnny Redcorn etc

Didn't she say Arlenite and Nancy was the one who said Arlenian?

Nope. I just watched the episode not 10 minutes ago. "Arlenite" was the Channel 84 approved term

There was a gag where they both got confused about who said what lol

Can a KotH fan tell me why? (to sell propane to the Middle East market?)

I'm sure they'll do episodes that take place in the past to show how the characters dealt with certain things in modern day. It'd be surprising if they just completely skipped over stuff that'd be pretty hard to ignore.

I see Hank's addiction to garage doors didn't go anywhere

file.png - 541x469, 183.1K

did they actually say divorce or just separated?
I'd find it believable that Khan's get rich quick schemes would get on Minh's nerves to the point where she makes him move out for a while

Mike probably got back by Saudi money. The Saudi been funding vidyas and anime recently

non zero chance Khan is a cryptobro

redneck minh was the hottest koth character

Wouldn't it make more sense to fund a reboot of a more popular cartoon?

he has other branches iirc
i think he mentions it when megalo mart shuts them down

Oh thats a great plot device for the entire reboot, how hank was so deep inside its own bubble on an ideal frozen in time artificial america in the middle east only to return to the real USA and realize that everything went to hell so quickly that Dale looks like a sane individual in comparation to everything else.

Hey thats me, I'm the fat bastard.

Be careful, you're gonna make Hank have a heart attack with a post like that.

Bobby never really had good organizational skills
Chane was near Connie's level in terms of intelligence, so he could feasibly be the manager, or he could just be trying to playboy it up and have a GM

I don't think Hank would like Dak at all. He'd probably look side eyed at Tony Romo too. Because they choke. Yep, the Cowboys sure could use another Troy Aikman, maybe even with a new Tom Landry.

They could've had made a spiritual sequel episode to Returning Japanese and have Hank meet his Arab counterpart

AAAAAAAH! I INVEST ENTIRE 401k INTO REDNECK GRIBBLE'S REDNECKCOIN! I WAS GONNA BE BIIIIIG MILLIONAIRE!

best case scenario is she works for his media company and got Joseph a part time job working there
it allows him to spend time with his son without blowing the ruse and it lets her do more than just her news desk job

The only branch he lost was Strickland North when he gambled it away to Lane Pratley in card game.

dale is literally me, then

since he just leaves half way through the intro

Bill got covid, notice how he's coughing as he leaves, and then the others are wearing masks right after

They all leave one by one for different reasons, it's to illustrate how the alley quartet fell apart without Hank

Anon that's skin damage/cancer.

I'm hoping for more Mihn r34, personally.

I could see bill being the one who gave them all the wu-flu like when they got lice, then the rest of them shunning him for it

Its funny how its not even a stylistic change - Peggy literally aged that bad in the intro

file.png - 385x427, 195.76K

Frankly there's not enough fat bastard NTR hentai. Ah, Muga Yoshinaga, my beloved.

46ehnj.jpg - 292x173, 8.15K

Peggy's earrings and glasses really better suit her mindset. It's hard to explain but I feel like that's the kind of look most women in Texas who are a bit unhinged and willfully naive.

You mean Roger?

Not "Arlot"

if he's rooming with bill it has to be something like that
he was decently well off before, but i can see him losing it all due to crypto
minh divorces because he ruins their lives, she takes the house and sells it to move away
kahn has to room with bill now and probably works a shitty job because he burnt all his bridges because he thought he was gonna be a millionaire

that saudi air will do shit to you

What do Americans like? What's the most American adult cartoon?

Also might be a morals thing. KotH was always Fox's/Adult Swim's tamest offering. Whenever it got edgy, it was to humanize weird-but-well-meaning folk, almost never to punch down at deviants (while being very clear that normies find them weird). Feels like a perfect property for morality-obsessed investors to go, "See, we're cool!"

its a unflattering look one would only wear in deliberate ignorance of fashion trends because of a subconscious awareness that if one were to start caring to often it would shatter their self esteem, mainly the glasses, the earrings are more so that existing self esteem manifesting in a unflattering personal taste.

he was decently well off before

he's the sole provider and they live paycheck to paycheck

I just love how he joined the drinking gang, and when they all fell off he just still went out to drink lmao

Dude got hit by the college late growth spurt Mack Truck.

He's just like me frfr

Weren't they trying to get into Ted Wassanasong's country club? Dues aren't cheap.

What can I say? White boys had a good thing going.

Mike Judge himself is a conservative but isn't some crazy neo-con. If he does I imagine it'd be more inline with his satirical humor rather than ORANGE MAN BAD

The neighborhood behind him feels awfully sparse and empty

There's some element of that in people hating Luanne's marriage to Lucky, but it's also that the episode with Buckley's Angel is a very popular episode (it makes me cry, shut up, especially since Johnny Hardwick wrote it). The point of that episode is that she realizes what was obvious to the viewer from the beginning, that she sucks at beauty school and is only there because it's the only way to better herself that she can imagine.

Then the turning point is that she signs up for Arlen Community College, something the Hills never encouraged her to do because it never occurred to them either that she could be anything more than a beautician.

Then after this, the writers became stuck and had no idea what to do with her. Brittany Murphy's availability may have been an issue but even before Luanne moves out near the end of season 4, she's in every episode but has like one line every week. It seems like once they completed her beauty school arc they didn't know what else she should do, because the only thing they could have done was to make her smarter, and that was not going to happen.

So what some fans of the character saw with the Lucky storyline was Luanne being regressed, and since her arc was about learning she's meant for a better life than she imagined, it made me sad to think of what could have been, I guess..

The thing really old-school fans like to point out is that Luanne originally was an incredibly gifted mechanic, and the joke was that no one ever suggests that she could be a mechanic even though she's great at fixing cars and terrible at beauty school. They dropped that pretty quickly because it was the kind of "look how clueless these people are" joke that Judge didn't like, but because they dropped it, they dropped the obvious and satisfying ending for her arc, which may even have been intended originally, for her to drop out of beauty school and make a career as a mechanic.

Or the job was outsourced to Saudi Arabia and Hank moved there to keep the job he loves so much.

I'm honestly more invested in the stuff with Bobby, Connie, Joseph and the other now grown up kids than I am in the adults outside of seeing where everyone is.

The season will end with a cliffhanger regarding not just Kahn and Minh's marriage and whether or not they'll go from seperation to divorce but Bobby and Connie getting engaged to contrast it.

They'll fund whatever. They own SNK because MBS played SNK games when he was a kid.

I just realized, how common is it to have a street both in front of and behind your house? I live in Georgia and I can't say I've ever seen that setup in a neighborhood.

Mike Judge himself is a conservative

Is he? I've always gotten the impression he's more of a liberal leaning centrist/libertarian.

That boy ain't right

I wonder what Good Hank will be like, or if Junichiro ever managed to overcome his narrow urethra

It's a back alley, not a full sized street

It's not uncommon in the midwest.

New showrunner only makes black reboots

Shoehorns a random black guy moving into Hank's house

I fucking knew it.

I like how everyone in this thread just accepted this as fact without any evidence other than we see a brown guy take Hank's place in the intro

He could be? I dunno dude. All I know is he loves Texas and is tight with Alex Jones.

It's an alley, and I've seen them a lot. Especially in actual cities

minh divorces because he ruins their lives, she takes the house and sells it to move away

minh's still in the area, we see her and kahn both come to investigate when hank catches bobby and connie in bed. separation seems probable.

I've never seen anything like that either. It honestly confused the hell out of me for a long time and made me think the house was just inconsistent because there's almost always another house or yard or some kind of land behind you. I honestly can't think of any time I've ever seen a set up like Rainey Street's.

Mike Judge earned the benefit of the doubt, right?

It's like this

file.png - 1200x900, 2.48M

half the voice actors are dead

it's set in current year

very high expectations because koth was one of the goat western cartoons

dude it's a really high bar to hit and it's not looking good.

waiting to die in the house just like Ms. Wakefield

I meant more in regards because he didn't fuck it up with the Beavis and Butthead revival.

He did write for Frasier which is the whitest show i existence though.

Buckley's Angel is such a good episode, only ever seen people shit on it.

After Common Side Effects? Absolutely.

That boy is not correct

I know it wasn't a trainwreck but I didn't personally watch more than 2 or 3 episodes of it, I don't actually like judges more juvenile writing.

It's an alley. It's just most alley streets don't look that good. They're often in poor condition.

lmao

This is so fucking out of Character. This series is dead on arrival

Most also go right up against the fences and/or have garages that directly access the alley. Rainey Street is certainly an interesting one. I wonder if anyone ever asked Judge about it

he is flawed...

I'm sure Hank maintains it.

Yessir, nothing quite like the smell of freshly poured asphalt. That's a fine-lookin' alley I tell you h'wat.

I feel like I remember some sort of interview saying that they were making it in response to Trump or some shit, just like how every older politically neutral properly is brought back to be used as a propaganda piece about how you should think like the creators. It was around that part that I lost hope in the new show.
I'm not sure anymore if that interview was one of the actual creators now, or just someone writing articles talking "for the creators". Not sure I can imagine them bringing back this show and not trying to add vague politics.

koth as a political soap box probably would have influenced so much actual violence just because of how pathetic and retarded that would be.

I feel like Lucky wasn't supposed to come back after the Khan goes Redneck episode but they just liked working with Tom Petty so much they wrote him in as a more important character

If you google suburban Texas alleys, it's pretty accurate to have patches of grass running parallel to the street in the alley.

How does a bad sequel ruin anything?
This is a mindset I'll never understand. I've seen plenty of bad sequels to shit I love but I'd never argue that they "ruined" the series or that they shouldn't have done it. Obviously in artistic cases, like if the studio wants to churn out a soulless sequel despite the creator's protest, I can understand. But a sequel work simply being bad isn't enough to upset me. I just won't watch it.

I believe it. His whole stretch probably is the most well maintained.

Hank catches GH writing in his precision-leveled concrete work

is there any evidence that gh isn't retconned out or shouldn't be be like 13 years old at this point?

Why is it that whenever they remake a properly, its always instantly clear which character is the remake character? Dunno if the design is too detailed, or too "put together", but something feels off. I look at the other characters and they have an odd stubby quality to them, but the new guy feels different somehow.

It's because the Original KoTH cast was made in the mid 1990s, and nearly 30 years of artistic evolution has taken place since then.

No I mean, no remake show can ever match the original art style. Somehow you can always tell. I feel like the original characters have a slightly ugly quality that the newer ones don't have.

The answer is going to be similar. We saw it happen during the original run of KoTH itself.

See It would be out of character for him to not go.

I don't think it was "outsourced" desu. They specifically state it was for a retirement nest egg, which suggests that he's getting GREATER pay while outsourcing is to REDUCE costs.

2 more months until KotH's legacy changes forever. Regardless of the reboot's quality, I enjoyed the past 15 years of fun "what if" threads about how the characters would carry on in our minds. Now to be completely dispelled.

Hank moving to Saudi Arabia is something I'd expect out of American Dad, not KOTH

Rare opportunity I have to post this

grove-street.jpg - 512x384, 89.16K

man with most american pride

takes a job outside america

Yeah no

He has to be a highly paid management/advisor type.

snow and all the characters canonically followed the COVID-84 guidelines in fucking texas

no fucking way i'm watching this trash

Bobby is 21 in the new season apparently which means that GH and Gracie should both be like 8. I do hope they retcon that fucking cremation episode because not only is it a generally lame episode but it spits in the face of Cotton's Plot which is one of the best episodes in the series.

I've intrigued with Muhammad. I can't help but think he's going to resonate with Hank once he gets past the religious discomfort

He loves America, but loves propane more. He even told Peggy he loves propane more than her.

Dale doesn't.

We know a couple episode titles, right? Do they tell us if Season 14 is going to fill in a lot of the gaps in time?

Beavis and Butthead was fine, sure this one will be too.

I imagine we will get flashbacks.

he literally shows up in the intro, anon

I hope it's full episodes. We can't have an entire Saudi Arabia arc left to brief scenes and mentions.

Hank value law and order and cleanliness and safety

Boomhauer is a Texas Ranger

Bill is in the military and a natural follower

It makes perfect sense of everyone but Dale to follow COVID guidelines, and he notably wears a chin diaper.

good catch. still, snow on the fucking ground? what the fuck were they smoking?

Do Bill or Boomhauer really seem like the types to NOT mask up?

Return of the King
The Beer Story
Chore Money, Chore Problems
Any Given Hill-Day
New Ref in Town
Peggy's Fadeout
Bobby Gets Grilled
No Hank Left Behind
A Sounder Investment
Kahn-scious Uncoupling

Moke Judge is an old school conservative which, by modern standards, is probably closer to a centrist. Neocons are all rabid, furious, paranoid and filled with hate, which he notably isn't if the politics of the original show are to be believed

Hank was at Mecca giving praise to the Allah as instructed by the one true of the prophet Muhammed (pbuh) when COVID happened

bill i can see being coerced, boomhauer is more ambiguous

Return of the King seems obvious
Beer Story could be anything
Chore Money feels like a teenage Bobby episode
Any Given Hill-day is definitely a HS football episode
New Ref in town also feels like HS football
Peggy's Fadeout could be any time
Bobby Gets Grilled feels like modern
No Hank Left Behind feels like the start of a Saudi Arc
Sounder Investment feels like Saudi
Kahn-scious feels closer to Luanne's wedding based on the intro

Bill is in the military and Boomhauer is a Texas Ranger. There's no reason for them not to mask up. Not sure what Black Hank's deal is, but the only people I've known to be actively mad about masks are MAGA wackadoos.

Can you go one thread without making everything about your dumbass political nigger-noise

Nancy is cheating on Dale again

SNOW

COVID

Random black guy living in Hank's house.

That janky budget animation

Hank and Peggy moved to fucking Saudi Arabia

Everything about this trailer is fucking horrible.

asking a schizo to stop being a schizo

kek

I'm assuming that's Muhammad, and I assume He's like most people and is doing it because he feels he should. Or at the very least, as a courtesy to Bill and Boomhauer

Isn't alcohol generally banned in Islam? The joke could probably be that everyone assumes he's a devout muslim but in actuality he's not actually all that religious.

People complaining about snow in Texas

They LITERALLY had an entire episode that centered around snow. It's where we got the Ma and Pa clip from

file.png - 1919x1079, 2.71M

you're proving my point. texas got royally assraped in part because they don't get annual snowfall

Seethe

Now you can call me Ray

Or you can call me Jay

Or you can call me RJ

Or you can call me RJJ

Or you can call me RJJ Jr

But you doesn't have to call me Johnson

Some anons here still don't get it

mqdefault.jpg - 320x180, 17.23K

hulurama didn't destroy futurama's legacy, this won't destroy koth's

Everything is a threat to everything when you're white and scared

That shit was already destroyed with those garbage comedy central 'movies'.

that was an early episode. another early episode had bobby get possessed by ants

What sucks is she literally met Lucky at a Truck Meet Up. They could've absolutely bonded over Truck shit.

Kamala lost, Biden lost, mald, dilate, cope, ywnbaw, etc. etc. now go cry about it on Anon Babble

Muhammad could've had a loss of faith, or something. It could also simply not be Muhammad, but we know he exists

Which should make everything in the intro completely fine. The only thing I don't like is the idea of Nancy getting back with John Redcorn BUT it could also be a red herring.

I don't spend every waking hour on Anon Babble like yourself, friend

To quote what The Matrix, Star Wars, FLCL, Powerpuff Girls, and Starship Trooper fans have been saying for decades
"Just ignore the new shit if it sucks"

I've known Muslims in the US that drank beer. Christians aren't really supposed to do it either.

dale never made any money and her retirement is approaching which lead to her getting her migranes back
meanwhile redcorn has already set up a casino and hotel on his land and his large 'acerage' is the perfect place for her to unwind

making John Redcorn think he can reveal he's always been Joseph's father only for Joseph to still not care and want to be with Dale

That would be kino.

"Joseph, I am your father."

"Yeah, whatever. Now vote for my dad, Dale Gribble, to become the next mayor of Arlen."

I wonder if the chick Boomhauer leaves with is just intended to be some random MILF to indicate he's still a ladies man or his wife and kid to indicate he's settled down. I would guess something closer to the latter because everything else basically seems to be things that appened in the timeskip. If that is his wife, I'm guessing it's French-Canadian chick from Uh Oh, Canada because she goes back to Arlen with him and that episode comes from pretty much the very end of the series so not really any time to implement her.

Plus she has a pretty distinctive nose and eyes so the sunglasses and mask work as a means of hiding them if it's supposed to be a surprise.

9105646.jpg - 591x580, 68.38K

an episode where everyone loses their shit over freak snowfall is congruous with an intro portraying snow as a regular, seasonal occurrence where they live

That's awfully specific denial, I think you protest too much.

It probably means he wouldn't be able to retire comfortably if he didn't keep working.

actually peggy got cancer

He was never going to retire comfortably. At least that was how I interpreted the credit card episode.

Hank needs to speak about the israel and palestine conflict

bender's big score is a national treasure and would've been a perfect sendoff for the series

He's a boomer, they all retire comfortably as long as they work till at least 65.

Were you ever diagnosed with Autism? Because this feels like the kind of thing that will drive (You) up the wall no matter how it plays out in the series.

I wonder if that changes since the time jump is shorter. Hank was like, 44 in 1997 and I'm pretty sure he was 44 or 45 when the series ended.

he works in tech and builds robots
if he's investing in crypto he'd probably be early investor rich one

My only issue is that Peggy has gotten, how do I say this, dumber as time gone on?

I feel like I've been seeing that happen in real time not just with my mom but also myself as we get older

all my niggas say heil hitler!

bobby what the hell are you listening to?

comfy

It kind of looks like he's playing stepdad with a random milf and her son, but who knows

Hank is early 40s at the end of the show at the oldest, maybe 40. He and Peggy have their 20th wedding anniversary at the end of season 3 and it's established that they got married at 18 right out of high school meaning they were 38 in that episode.

i think some people just wore it to not attract attention

They live above their means to look better.

I feel like at the level of conspiracy theorist Dale was at his time, he wouldn't be more like modern conspiracy theorists, he would be on another level.

So, 1959? Wait a minute.. DID COTTON HILL LIE ABOUT TRYING TO KILL CASTRO? How could he do this to specifically me?

this happened in the simpsons too where all the new characters are overdesigned

Biden won thoughever

That was a dream bill had of course hank wasn't born in New York

kahn would sell early before it really blew up

Nobody really knows. Hank was supposed to be in his early 40s, Fox requested that he be 35 to be closer in age to the target audience. But a lot of episodes really don't line up with him being that young but then there's others (like Hank and Peggy's anniversary) that don't quite gel with him being like 42 or 43 as originally intended either.

I get how this functions but since it takes up so much time in the opening to establish the timeline, I feel like this would be really bizarre to keep seeing throughout the entire revival unless this is a new recurring character (might explain why someone said we never see him leave, but I also doubt Hank, Peggy, and Bobby judging from the leaks share a house with this guy.) Otherwise you keep having to see this random non-character through a notable part of the opening. It couldn't possibly be like that. But I also doubt this is a one-time opening for Ep 1 and that they'd make a new one with a smaller timelapse just remaking the original again with the new designs and their current setup. That'd be stupid.

Some of us watched him do it on The Gong Show

It is incredibly hard to fuck up B&B. KOTH isn't that formulaic

Will Boomhauer still be aTexas Ranger?

I could definitely see him on the Nephilim, Tartaria, etc. grindset.

The more frequent snow is probably just commentary on climate change. It's a fact that Texas has been experiencing more frequent and colder winters, it's just the causes that are debatable.
Nearly the entire state lost power in 2021 for week(s) due to not being prepared to handle the conditions.

That episode was from 1998. I remember when my region of Texas didn't have snow for decades, then it snowed once in the early 2000s as a freak occurrence, and then it became a bit more normal every other year since.

Yeah, I've felt more or less like that since the announcement, but also just the entire atmosphere around KoTH simply being that original show and nothing else. It's going to feel really shitty living in a post-koth revival world. Just this innate sense of a different era for it.

They really want me to believe that Hank moved to a country where he can't drink beer and somewhere that Peggy can't be loud and opinionated?

The more frequent snow is probably just commentary on climate change. It's a fact that Texas has been experiencing more frequent and colder winters, it's just the causes that are debatable.

Nearly the entire state lost power in 2021 for week(s) due to not being prepared to handle the conditions.

Fake news

EEEEEeeehhhhh!

All 10 episodes drop same day

I know it was bound to happen, but damn. The talkback thread is truly dead.

It has never and will never be funny.

This is a huge mistake. Building hype and discussion week to week is how shows get big and enter the public conscious. Going with the binge method means a show only lasts a moment and you have to produce 10x as much slop to keep people plugged in.

I've been wondering since this revival seems so hell-bent on following all of the last episodes as a guide, if Minh will still be friends with the gun club and Dale. But I guess it's been so long it wouldn't be surprising if they just stopped talking in all those years (except Dale since they're still on the same street together.)

One thing I'd actually be disappointed about is if they go back on that and we see her be a bitch to Dale. It'd make that gun club episode feel even more like a worthless cliche gimmick of "joining them to get what i want but actually coming around to them" and it never mattering beyond "we filled an episode quota."

Maybe I'm reading into this a little too much but this feels like a commentary on the American dream being dead with jobs being outsourced, inflation, and the uncertainty of retirement. As in the whole idea of being able to go to a school, go to college, and just work at any job for like 40 years in your home town with a solid community comfortably for you whole life is just simply not realistic now. Like it's gotten so bad that even the biggest and most loyal patriots like Hank literally can't afford to believe in the country anymore...

Another thing I hope is retconned because it's utter nonsense.

Believe it or not, that actually has me feeling better about King of the Hill transitioning to puppet-rigged animation. FIFF was the closest thing to a spiritual successor even with its clearly different animation style. Maybe this won't be such a bad change after all...

The whole show was a commentary on the american condition at the time, so you aren't wrong for trying to read deeper into it.

you can praise f is for family all you want but its animation was not one of its strengths

Do you not know about the American community within Saudi Arabia

Christians aren't really supposed to do it either.

Nah, drinking is allowed, just not becoming an alcoholic/drunkard, you can get buzzed, but aren't supposed to drink like your kid got shot to death in front of you every night. Many monks were brewers.

Joseph will be a native who believes he's white; so that's bound to rub some weirdos the wrong way

he's half white tho

feather indian (beaner) white supremacist

so basically real life. would be kino

Dale begins a love affair with Jane and brings everything full circle

demiqueer

Tranny fag, lol.

Joseph doesn't know that

the rules don't apply to whites so long as you aren't a muslim and have use to the saudi royal family

$7450 in 1955 is $89670.45 today.

Houses around the country for that modest size cost at least triple that.

Places like California would easily be $1 million.

I really wanna see him pop up here and there. Have some scenes where the guys are hanging out and Hank realizes Bill, Dale and Boomhaur now have memories with this new guy that Hank wasn't there for. Could make for a fun episode.

tfw it's dropping on my 27th birthday

tfw not only am I now older than Bobby but he's managed to accomplish WAY more than me

If this isn't a sign then i don't know what is. Can't wait to see how Buck turned out though.

No Cotton
Not watching

WAIT A MINUTE, I HAVE A WIFE!

WINGO!

It's Bill. No one bothered to tell him the quarantine was over.

you can literally see bill get covid

he doesn't know he's half native either so what the fuck are you on about

That brings up an interesting question. Does Joseph ever find out he's Redcorn's son? Looks like Nancy leaves with Redcorn so I have to assume she's left Dale.

it gets kino like 5-6 episodes in

Act Two

What's the act one of this?

global warming

warming

snow

The show ended with him still believing Dale is his biological dad. So he'll take act more like Dale and his gun club than carrying the Redcorn name

Little big longie, probably. That OST has to come from somewhere.

I don't see him banging Connie in this pic.

You can really get that vague sense of weightlessness throughout everything, even if it's not super obvious.

the slight way they tilt him when he stops, coming up to them at the start

during the montage, how stiff some of the poses are when they felt more expressive originally throughout

most obvious is the rigged bobbing of him carrying the sign

with a whole episode it's going to feel a lot more obvious. we've probably already seen exactly how this will look just without the line squiggles in the new beavis and butthead.

You're right, they were just in bed together in their underwear platonically.

It's probably just a reference to the big snow
Don't think Mike Judge would force climate change BS too heavily

shows snow on the ground at least a dozen times

reference to the big snow

holy retard

Bobby's an entrepreneur who is enjoying his dream job, keeps all his childhood friends and loves his family

Hank is also super successful and rich as fuck. But he's still a humble man who would rather be in the company of friends and family

It's gonna be kino. If Beavis and Butthead is a world were everyone gets a bad ending (Daria included,) then KOTH is the world where everyone gets a good ending. I'm expecting the finale to be Dale becoming the mayor.

Animation looks horrid though

Everyone says Peggy looks bad but honestly outside of the eyebags I think she looks better than she did originally. Her hairstyle was always her big problem.

Finale should be Bill getting a woman

Cooks with ch*rcoal

Right

Has sex in his parents house with a girl he snuck in

Right

Nah that boy still ain't right I tell you what

Yes, father.

The most detailed animation in the original series was that one scene where Bobby takes off his underwear.

i always figured bill would become a woman in a modern koth

Didiwoman somehow got hotter

But overall I don't know if it seems like everyone's doing BETTER. Actually it seems like most of them are doing worse.

They already did that

No, Stuart Dooley is going to now be Stephanie Dooley. But still have the same voice and attitude.

I embraced my inner self.

this would literally be static cling then

foreshadowing

Calling it now: that BBQ sauce recipe from Bill help make him famous

Daria included

Isn't Daria a show host at the end?

looks 17 before moving to saudi arabia

looks 14 when he actually leaves

wtf?

bill is contemplating killing everyone

Boohoo, if we were talking about trannies trying to appeal and scooch into neocon spaces, you'd be loathing with Anon Babbletards too.

he does look like some no personality jackass

I'm Lenore, why do you keep calling me BEEL?

Propain is finally REAL

He's the King of NoFap alright.

the last thing I need is some silky man in his silky scarves trying to trick me into having silky fun.
