Did you learn anything from this show, for real?

I didn't watch that show because I was almost out of high school when it aired.

I think education and comedy don't mix.

Napoleon, the Tudors, Cleopatra, some other assorted things.

Mostly because the way they presented them amused me.

The reasons behind the names of the months and the fact that July and August are named after Julius and Augustus Caesar
George Washington killing Brits in their sleep on Christmas morning

This was, without question, the least educational show ever.

I don't know about the writers and animators hating it, but it was famous for going 10 million overbudget, having to recycle past animation to make deadlines and not having all its planned episodes produced.

I learned that education is best done incidentally, through episodes of something with actual characters who have stories, and exist to do more than teach stuff

how the fuck was this that expensive? the only expense was the actors and the musical score. sure, those are both way too expensive to have now, so they have to one-at-a-time the studio recordings, or have them do it at home, but...

I learned what "yes, yes" means in French.
