Warner Bros Discovery is splitting up, Warner Bros side is getting bought

youtube.com/watch?v=VDLA3NbuSH4

Warner Bros and Discovery are now in the process of splitting up.

This is due to Warner Bros finding a buyer to bail out the losses.

The original buy out got rejected by the FCC due to owning too many TV channels, namely TBS and CNN.

Both Warner Bros and Discovery have decided to split up so the Warner Bros side's but out can go through.

Warner Bros is keeping the film library, the cartoons (Looney Tunes and related TV shows, movies and specials, 1934-1967 MGM shorts, 1933-1958 Popeye shorts, Hanna Barbera, pre-1992 Ruby Spears, cartoons based on their movies, Spielberg/Ruegger shows, DC shows, CN/AS originals, ect), HBO, Cinemax, Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, the IPs and DC Comics.

Discovery is getting everything else but their IPs are staying with Warner Bros.

Buyout was a bidding war and there was a winner.

Either Disney or NBC Universal will buy Warner Bros out once the split happens.

Set to be finalized by late 2025 at the earliest, 2026 on average.

Thoughts?

DON'T SHILL YOUR CHANNEL YOU UTTER SIMPLETON

rando click bait was right all along!!!

Disney

o fuck no. I'd rather have some Saoudi Prince or Tencent than them.

Please let Discovery keep SU and Summer Camp Island

Trump won't allow it.
But I do agree, Disney already has too much, NBC Universal is a perfect fit for Warner Bros as it means Warner Archive can start producing Walter Lantz, Noveltoons and Rocky and Bullwinkle Blu-Rays.

Also the complete Tex Avery on Blu-Ray since he directed 4 shorts for Walter Lantz in the 1950s.

Nope, staying with Warner Bros.

YES

shitsney buys DC and CN

NO

It could be NBC Universal instead, they are 2 companies looking to buy Warner Bros, and I hope it's NBC Universal that buys Warner Bros out since Disney has too much stuff as it is.

Disney

That would literally be the death of Cartoon Network (although it is already dead)

Disney

Oh boy, Roger Rabbit 2!

NBCUniversal has the dough to spend.

If Disney buys Warner Bros it just means Toon Disney rises from it's grave, replacing CN as a result.

Adult Swim on the other hand will die off and it's shows will be moved to FX, also no more Toonami.

There is a time line where Disney owns Jojo's Bizarre Adventure due to Disney buying out Warner Bros. Thank about that for a bit.

One can hope.
That is true.

Say fellas, is that a JoJo reference?

>shitsney buys DC and CN

No one gives a shit about DC and CN and those who do don't matter.

WB does not own JoJo, it produces the anime and that's it

Says the marlel/ Seuss worshipping faggot

If it wasn't for Discovery's shit, the 20th anniversary of CN CIty probably would've actually been acknowledged. WB needs to get away from those fags.

One can hope.

Starring Zendaya as the daughter of Roger and Jessica.

Cucks his wife

Sounds like a chad to me.

Mmm.... Could be.
They fund the anime and some other tid bits here and there related to it but David Production produces the anime, but they do make money from it and that money was spent on more FLCL seasons, a anime Lord of The Rings movie and a Rick and Morty anime.

Too bad, you get Tara Strong instead.

I thought that Zendaya would piss more people off. Y'know what, fuck it, make Lola Bunny their daughter because why not? Makes sense, right?

deadline.com/2025/05/david-zaslav-warner-bros-discovery-restructure-1236390129/

WBD chief executive David Zaslav said an internal reorganization into two operating divisions, Global Linear Networks and Studios & Streaming, means “we can move quickly if we decide to change and make a determination on restructuring.”

Where does it say splitting off Discovery lmao? Shill your sloptube ELSEWHERE

Still not there my man, I don't think you understand what these articles are actually discussing.

They're discussing splitting the company in 2.

Unless the deal personally slights him, he won't care.

Trump wants America to be strong again and having foreigners (especially China) buy a American company is what Trump is against, plus the 100% tariff on foreign media and having Warner Bros be bought out by another American company like Disney or NBC Universal will bypass such a tariff.

China would not buy any of Warners IPs, because they're close to their expiration date and overpriced.

Investors are more likely to buy indie titles that are about to become popular. Because that's where the money is at.

Warner is an overvalued asset. Investors think it's worth more than it is, and shortly after they buy it they realize that they can't make money off it because kids don't give a shit about Looney Toons or Superman these days, and so they have to sell it to recuperate their losses.

Didn't stop Nick from buying TMNT and Garfield.
Seeing that this is either Disney or NBC Universal that is buying them this should be the last time... Unless Apple buys Disney (if Disney buys Warner Bros first) that is.

Didn't stop Nick from buying TMNT and Garfield.

And where did that get them?

But you're missing the point.

You could maybe take DC's value up by 10% maybe even 20% over 5 years. But a new IP might go up 1,000,000%.

Back in the day before HBO made the GoT series I was conversing with George RR Martin in emails. He was just a regular dude that made good books. Now he's a superstar and you can't get a hold of this motherfucker.

And GoT is probably second only to Harry Potter as far as Warner's profitable licenses go.

WB really is the town bicycle huh

MeTV Toons and the recent Blu-Ray releases prove that kids still care about Looney Tunes.

disney possibly owning the entire CN catalog

It never occurred to me that this could happen since Disney just fucking sucked ass at putting a cartoon catalogue on their channels
The power of infinite MCU money really.

It's the same thing NBC and Universal/Comcast are doing - which is getting rid of the cable assets and spinning them off into a separate company

No where in there is it saying that WB is selling all or part of itself to Disney or anyone else; no where is it saying that DC won't say with the studio and other non-cable assets.

Essentially the garbage DISCO shit and the Turner nets that are losing money and subscribers are being dumped into a separate company so they don't drag on the WB name and assets.

What don't you imbeciles understand about this?

Discovery is getting everything else but their IPs are staying with Warner Bros

What is is there that WB has?

Famicom thread

recent Blu-Ray releases prove that kids still care about Looney Tunes

What kid is buying Looney Tunes blu-rays?

Thank god

Why are they trying so hard to keep WB alive? Let it die already.

sex with lola

Because if WB falls and the IPs become public domain, then it creates a precedent that all media companies want to avoid

Public domain Looney Tunes

God that would be awesome

Wait, people are surprised by this?
AT&T split off WB as a debt-dumping scheme and Discovery picked it up as a tax dodge, it was only a matter of time before another restructure to re-separate WB's assets from AT&T's debt.

Discovery doesn't have a strong enough catalog to justify its own streaming service.

No one has a strong enough catalog to justify a streaming service, they are universally unprofitable. Logic has fuck-all to do with corporate movements in a post-Jack Welch world, it's purely about licking investor balls to push the stock price.

kids don't give a shit about Looney Toons or Superman these days, and so they have to sell it to recuperate their losses.

Lmao you couldn't be more right, did any kid or male watched the last Superman cartoon?
No, it was mostly watched by women which makes it a failure because it's supposed to be for boys and men and the last looney tunes was a flop, even Multiversus shutting down proves this right and about the worthy IP that they own is Batman and even then that's close to expiring in about a decade

It's not that unusual to have female orientated Superman show, like Lois and Clark

Anon the person you're replying to is twelve

MAWS did well enough to justify another season and a spin-off.
