Is it cannon?

Is it cannon?

Darth Maul alive.

Lol.

If it had direct involvement from George, it's canon. Fanboys can cry and bitch all they want, but that's the truth.

If you want it to be

Savage Opress

Get it? Because he's so evil that must make him savage and an oppressor. He's also voiced by Mr. Krabs.

No, but it is canon.

Yeah that was bullshit, newfags will never understand.
Fans were still willing to forgive the usual changes to the canon by Lucas but Maul coming back with spider legs was the last straw. I blame the guys who said Boba Fett wasn't digested by the Sarlacc.

Reboot & Beast Wars walked so this show could stumble like a drunken marionette.

You do realize that it was blatant fan service right? Everyone wanted him back even though it didn't make any sense

Keep crying and bitching. Maybe someday that might change something.

It takes 3 seasons for hair to move because George wanted to look like Thrunderbolts.

Thrunderbolts

Nigga...

Waht?

Of course it's not a cannon, it's a TV show!
Are you right anon? Why would you think a TV show is a weapon of war?

Everyone wanted him back

Speak for yourself

Who the fuck asked for a Darth maul show

It's Thunderbirds

People who thought that the phantom menace was good

Thunderbolts

Are you that same Gen X manbaby who's been making Lucas hate threads roughly twice a week on Anon Babble for the past three years?

No I'm the one who posted this thread.

I also responded to the manbaby with pic related

Shit, forgot link

Maul is pretty cool. Show could be good

Sebulba was more interesting.

I thought it was because was an opressed savage.

They saw the response to the "Maul and Talon were going to be the villains of George's Sequel Trilogy" stuff and decided they could use that as a hook for some bullshit to explain how Maul ended up going from big crime boss in Solo to ending up marooned on that Sith planet in Rebels.

Me, I did.

I did not understand why the fuck we got a fucking Bad Batch series after TCW finale, and not a series about what happened to Maul, Mandalore, Rex, Ahsoka. And even then, Bad Batch series turned out to be about babysitting some retarded, obnoxious genderbent clone girl, monsters of the week and fetch quest Saturday morning cartoon adventures, and Palpatine returning somehow, instead of being about a squad of commandos doing morally dubious shit for the Empire, slowly questioning their purpose and allegiance, and exploring clones during the Imperial era in general. It's wild how they said "let's make a show about clones, and instead of doing the stuff that everyone loves about the clones, it's gonna be about gay babysitting and 90% of it is gonna be stupid filler".

Maul show doesn't have some retarded child in it, and what Sam Witwer said about it so far sounds interesting, so it can be good.

No

I blame the damage TCW did to the franchise for the total Disney takeover.
Like nobody thought it was worth preserving LFL's creative freedom because the fanbase hated them that much.

It was George's idea.

It's a secondary canon, same as the games and books, I'm not thinking about Askoha or Maul creeping around during the OT but there are some cool moments in the show that make it worth watching if you really like Star Wars

I blame the damage TCW did to the franchise

What damage? Is it in the room with us right now? The critically acclaimed and fan favorite show that won shit ton of awards, was the single most watched show in the history of CartoonNetwork channel, was insanely popular on Netflix afterwards, and that is largely considered to be the best thing to come out of the whole prequel era? That damage? Take your meds.

Disney takeover

There was no takeover. George sold the company because he got a newborn kid, and he did not want to do star wars until he dies, he was already 70. He wanted to spend the remaining time with his family, instead of micromanaging Star Wars for another decade. He was supposed to be a creative consultant, and they were supposed to use his story treatments for the sequels, but JJ Abrams came in and fucked everything over. TCW has nothing to do with any of it, and your entire post is just a retarded non sequitur.

Who cares? Post more of this orange slut.

Literally no one fucking wanted him back. It was generally understood that Maul was a disposable pawn that Palpatine would throw under the bus as soon as he outlived his usefulness.

What people wanted was content on Maul’s backstory exploring how he wound up a Sith apprentice, and we got that in the form of comics. And they were much better than what Filoni managed to write.

What damage? Is it in the room with us right now?

I don’t know if you’re old enough to remember the release of the original TCW movie but it was VERY poorly received by adult audiences and led to Star Wars permanently losing a lot of fans (mainly ones that were already angry over the Prequels) who haven’t come back since.

Everyone wanted him back. He was wasted in the phantom menace. They didn't get to do anything with the character.

I don't give a fuck about those awards.
SW as a whole was losing relevance after the PT concluded and with no new "primary" content in sight. Instead of keeping SW on its feet, TCW just divided fans even further by fucking around with the canon. So not only did we have prequel but Lucas haters among fans of the prequels as well.

MAUL: SHADOW LORD will show Maul re-evaluate whether creating the Empire was a good idea, says Sam Witwer. >“[Maul’s] like, ‘Is that what [Sidious] had in mind? This is a little scary.’ … Maul comes from a time of swords and sorcery and magic and knights, and now all of that color of the universe is being sucked out of this mechanized Empire. And Maul’s like, ‘Is this right? Is this the universe we’re trying to build?’”

this shit sounds lame, why are we getting a maul show again?

Because they know that the Disney-era Star Wars characters or universe don't have any fans.

nu-maul is a disney era character

TCW is the only thing that kept star wars alive and relevant, EU shit was never canon in the first place, and there was not enough EU fans to cause any significant divide, since that garbage was read by 12 people, compared millions who had watched the show. Kill yourself, you braindead, autistic retard. You are blatantly making shit up out of your ass.

TCW is overrated, its decent but it is nowhere near as good as it is made out to be. posting imdb scores means nothing

really?
I actually thought maul was one of the better arcs in the story.
He was emaciated and struggling when first reintroduced, holding on due to sheer hate.
Then again, i really like kotor 2 so seeing dark side user literally to angry to die makes sense to me.

Filoni didn't write any of it, retard. Those episodes were universally acclaimed that were Emmy and Annie nominated. Everyone loved them from.the start.

No one ever read your dogshit comic books other than 3 obese retards on the entire planet.

TCW is the only thing that kept star wars alive and relevant

It seems you're unaware of the concept of something being on life support. Anyway, despite good reviews and ratings for the networks, TCW never made as big of a splash as any of the live-action movies.

Overrated is a meaningless term. It says nothing other than the fact that you are mad that people like something, and it hurts your ego, since you have it in your head that you are the only arbiter of what's good or not, and everyone else is just stupid. Sorry to disappoint you, but it's the other way around.

TCW never made as big of a splash as any of the live-action movies.

I dunno man. RoS faded from public interest faster than any other movie outside of a pair of meme'd lines, lacking even the furor mentioning TLJ invokes.

TCW never made as big of a splash as any of the live-action movies

No one said otherwise. No star wars show has ever made that. You could argue Mandalorian perhaps did, but that's about it, and mostly due to baby yoda becoming a pop culture icon in and of itself.

But it sure made 1000000x bigger splash than fucking licensing shit, there are entire generations of fans who grew up with it, and to think that 12 fat comic readers getting mad over their shitty non canon lore is relevant in any form is just laughable. And that was the claim being made in this thread. Get real.

justify the final episode having a 9.9 score

Disregard the sequel trilogy or any nuwars, I keep forgetting those movies existed.

I dunno, you're the only guy here bringing up the expanded universe out of nowhere to use as a straw man. I don't care for the EU shit beyond bits of lore like Dooku's favorite drink or whatever.

you're the only guy here bringing up the expanded universe out of nowhere to use as a straw man.

Try actually reading the posts next time.

TCW just divided fans even further by fucking around with the canon

Within the human laws yes. But outside them every person decides for himself.

Maul has died on TPM, why would people who liked the movie would want it to be retconed?

To nu-wars, not to Legends

I don't get it, where's the expanded universe there?

Actually utilised and fleshed him out

Plus they still killed him for good in a fitting way when his character was done unlike Ashoka

issue being is that theres a large gap in his life that they're telling us about, when maul has already been used a bit too much. we dont need a maul tv show, relegate this to a comic and make a show about someone else

Under the old system, it IS secondary canon, but books and games are a tier below it. The films were the end all and be all to which everything had to accomodate around, while TCW, given how George has heavily involved in it, was the main companion piece and could contradict other media if it wanted to.

Why is shitney trying to rehabilitate every Star Wars villain? They did it to Boba Fett and Asajj Ventress too. Like, we don't want to see them mope around feeling bad for sick, starving orphans. Just let me see Maul fuck people up, you dumb fucking hack morons.

It's canon, yes

Independently of one's opinion of the show, it's disingenous to say it was poorly recieved or caised a divide in the fandom. The movie and first season were controversial, while the show found it's footing shortly after and became the main face of the franchise for half a decade. Hell, you can even say they're the number one reason the prequels have gone under critical reaprissal other than nostalgia.

I'd honestly like a show with a mainly aliens cast and I mean actual Star Wars aliens and not just people with head things or fancy coloured skin. Also with the Maul show I'm surprised it isn't just showing his backstory and him before Savage finds him since that's what they did for Cad Band's episodes or Count Dooku's. I've heard mixed things on a lot of the comics, there's one Darth Vader run people like that I checked and Durge recently got added back to canon.

didnt boba fett become a better guy in the EU, and asajj ventress became a better person in TCW, neither of which are disney?
